Job Description

Commercial & Contract Architect Job DescriptionProfile Expectation

  • A candidate from commercial background, with ~4-5 years of relevant work experience in supporting Commercial & Contractual activities during the Bidding stage, preferably an MBA (Finance), CA.
  • Good Financial & Legal knowledge with ability to;
    • Identify Risk areas in a business transaction/Contract/RFP/Tender document that can have Economic Implications. Drive structured Risk Mitigation & Management with relevant stakeholders during the Bid stage.
    • Convert business requirements into comprehensive financial models, Business case, Profitability Analysis & present it to Management team.
    • Understand Legal contracts; redline onerous T&Cs, suggest & redraft T&Cs & relevant legal clauses.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive the end objectives. Maturity to exercise commercial judgment w.r.t commercial / sales processes & controls, cost-benefits.
  • Experience of working in & driving multi stakeholder environment.
  • Good Communication, coordination, negotiation & inter personal skills.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge in Microsoft Office suit (Excel, word, powerpoint)
  • Experience/Exposure to Commercial & Contractual aspects in IT Software/Service industry and understanding of projects/ services principles
  • The candidate will need to demonstrate basic understanding of INCOTERMS, Billing & Invoicing process, Revenue Recognition, Cash flows, Account Receivable. Should have Business enabling approach & ability to perform financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will significantly contribute towards commercial & contract management activities during the bidding stage in order to achieve business objectives.
  • Identifying Contractual risks & driving Risk mitigation & Management.
  • Reviewing customer contracts, redline onerous T&Cs, suggest/redraft contractual clauses & manage contract change management closely with Sales, Presales, Legal, Product, Procurement & Management team.
  • Financial Modeling, Business Case, Profitability Analysis for RFP/Tender/various business opportunities in pre Win stage.
  • Driving Bid Commercials in line with; overall business objectives, organizational governance mandates & general commercial sense.
