We believe in empowerment where each of us takes ownership and responsibility for developing and implementing new ways of working.Show More Key responsibilitiesAs the Lead Data Engineer you will work closely with the product team on the following key tasks: Be part of a team of highly skilled data engineers, responsible for designing and developing cutting edge end to end big data products for our global organization Implement or delegate technical execution or responsibilities when appropriate Work closely with internal customers in an agile manner to understand, decompose and scope technical solutions based on best practice designs that meet and exceed expectations Assist in and where appropriate review, the estimation, time and cost of a specific solution design Develop, construct, implement and maintain solutions to ensure on-going realization of business value from existing and new products in our core digital platform. Participate in code walkthroughs according to the requirements of the functional specifications Highlight all risks and issues that affect the development or deliveries Directing technical aspect of operations related to escalated client requests or high severity issues as they affect or confront the product or team Design appropriate enhancements and recommend alternative approaches, when necessary to drive delivery of superior products Build data pipelines and implement complex engineering required to sustainably source data that augment our data assets and continuously improve platform offerings Collaborate with the technology organization to interoperate with existing systems and manage data transfers Contribute towards improving the company s technical awareness, depth and use of technology across the business as well as participate in the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies as it related to software developmentShow More We are looking forStrong engineering background, with a degree, certification or experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Data Engineering or Data Science Excellent track record of delivery using languages like PySpark, Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript etc. Proficiency in at least two of these languages a must Solid experience in contributing hands-on products built within data technologies, ranging from relational databases to big data solutions (Hadoop or Spark) Experience of modern technologies e.g. REST API, microservices, Kubernetes Experience in delivering CI/CD related solutions with a high degree of automationGreat to have Experience with Enterprise Data Platforms such as Palantir Foundry a distinct advantage Data engineering and pipeline technology experience - particularly open source and modern frameworks Familiarity and experience with Azure services particularly DevOps, Data Factory and Databricks in implementing new applications Good instincts around data analytics with experience in machine learning an added advantageGeneric Skills Collaborative mindset with strong facilitation and people skills. Past leadership experience is an advantage Fluent and effective communication in both written and oral English An excellent team player who can at the same time demonstrate strong autonomy and high motivation to produce individually with a can do attitude,
