Job Description

IntroductionReady to re-imagine the product management role At IBM, as an Offering Manager, you are responsible for the full lifecycle of an offering: from validating need to determining the business model and defining the solution requirements. Going beyond the traditional focus of timetables and budgets, you use your keen insights into what customers want in their own business plan - and work across disciplines to build the best solutions to a problem. If being the CEO of your offering excites you, consider an offering management career at IBM.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs an Offering Manager, you will direct and review market opportunity analysis to contribute to segment POV. You will engage cross-discipline stakeholders and monitor trends to identify growth opportunities. Outlines competitors SWOT, feature differences, and market share. Leverages analytic tools (e.g., scenario analysis) to develop business plan and refine strategy.You will perform or commission analysis to identify needs and quantify opportunity, connecting with customers, prospects, and other market stakeholders to maintain a robust outside-in perspective. Has regular meetings with target market customers and prospects to gather market requirements (i.e., unmet needs from users and buyers) and develops an understanding of the competitive landscape and key market influencers inclusive of offering capabilities, consumability, and go-to-market strategies. Articulates market problems to the broader offering team. Responsibilities: As the voice of the business and users, you are responsible for the following:

  • You will perform critical go-to-market functions, influence strategy and develop sustaining relationships to drive growth of the Managed Applications portfolio.
  • You are the point of contact within an assigned region to serve as the liaison between the global offering team and local sellers, clients and partners.
  • Articulate markets, research users and define competitive landscape
  • Innovate with established & emerging technology software, hardware and services
  • You will design and maintain regional offering-related programs to support success of the regional sales strategy. In partnership with the local sales and client experience leaders you will identify requirements for Managed Application offerings across the portfolios and work with the global offering leaders to develop the opportunity. Success in this role is measured by through the regional adoption of offerings, sales targets achievement and revenue growth by Managed Applications.
  • Act as change agents and champion strategic initiatives, partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Work collaboratively with development leaders, product architects, product designers, and key customers to appropriately package features into offering releases and ensure offering designs reflect business objectives (e.g., by creating quarterly roadmaps, monthly release plans).
  • Regularly participate in overall functional program planning (e.g., for offering content, usability, schedule, and quality
  • Articulate market problems to the broader offering team.
  • Develop and execute roadmaps, business models and go-to-market plans.
  • Drive customer validation through beta programs and client meetings, confirming requirements are addressed by the delivered solution.
  • Collaborate closely with design and engineering to ship offerings
  • Partner with and enable sales, marketing, finance and legal.
  • Define pricing, packaging, positioning, then measure (everything)
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in IT Industry
  • Proficient in SAP HANA architecture and design including HANA scaling, network integration / connectivity, sizing, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery capabilities (HSR), multitenancy / MDC, SAP Fiori UI, HANA Cloud Integration, Dynamic Tiering, and Smart Data Streaming.
  • Working knowledge of the operational aspects of SAP HANA including monitoring, HANA backup and restore, installation and ongoing administration for SAP HANA and associated applications.
  • Ability to develop and implement product, market, business, or technology strategies with executive review. Has vision of overall strategies. Contributes to policy making. Recognized as an expert and leader by members of a field, related functions, and multi -country organizations. Leads business unit, country, or international teams, conducts special projects, or manages functions or strategic departments
