Engineer Mercedes-Benz Research and Development, India is seeking Functional Engineers / Lead Engineers with a strong technical background in the areas of Automated Driving (AD) & Product development for AD Sensors. Mercedes Benz Driver Assistance / Automated driving projects: A driver assistance system used for collision warning & mitigation, lane recognition, traffic sign recognition, object recognition for avoiding or mitigating crash, automated / driver assisted parking functions, recording system events etc Key Job Responsibilities:
• Complete Function responsible for AD Modules
• Understand, Define and manage Product Component requirements, Product Design, Development process & validation
• Work with the system / component supplier to fulfill functional requirements
• Conduct component, system & vehicle validation tests for functional validation of component / system
• Participate in review of Product Component Architecture / Design
• Analysis of Defects and propose solutions
• Optimize State Machine
• Define Fail safe mechanisms
• Test functionality on HiL or vehicle
• Subject matter expert for specific component module(s)
Basic Qualification:
• Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication/Electrical and Electronics/Computer Science
• 5-9 years of experience in Embedded Product development and/or Automotive domain
Key Skills and Experience:
• Automotive System Engineering and Development experience
• Experience as System Software or Hardware Engineer responsible for functions
• Exposure in one of the following areas Driver and/or Park Assistant systems , Ultrasonic sensors, Radar / Lidar / Camera Based assistance systems
• Knowhow in Camera/ Image quality/ HMI / Object Detection
• Excellent knowhow of product development life-cycle
• Usage of Requirement mgmt. tools DOORS, Requirements Elicitation and Management activities
• Excellent Programming & debugging skills : C, C++, OOP, UML
• Scripting knowledge: Pearl, Python, CAPL
• Usage of design tools like e.g. Enterprise architect, MS Visual studio
• Knowhow of Continuous Integration, Continuous development process and tools e.g. GIT
• Vehicle/HiL integration tests for functional validation
• Electrical Systems Knowhow and debugging skills
• Knowhow of Diagnostic protocols : UDS , KWP
• CAN and FLEXRAY protocol knowledge
• Usage of Vector CAN tools - CANOE
Other Skills:
• Usage of ADAS tools for test data / video analysis
• Exposure to ISO26262 Functional Safety standards & ASPICE
• Overview of Agile development process and tools
• Knowhow of tools JIRA, Confluence, Kanbo
• Good communication skills and ability to work in & contribute as a good team player
• Good stakeholder management skills and ability to represent team independently
• Experience in the automotive field and exposure of multi-cultural environment is an added advantage
• Basic knowledge in German language preferred
