If this is you, please apply today!ResponsibilitiesActively participate as a key team member of the VMware Engineering Services - IT Cloud Infrastructure Operations team to provide production infrastructure support for critical business applications. As a cloud infrastructure administrator, your role and responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Build robust, self-healing features and automation capabilities that help reduce operational effort and improve service up-time.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting & performance analysis of on-premises and cloud-based virtualization environments.
  • Deploy and maintain production environments that demand 24/7 availability, resiliency and consistent performance
  • Support disaster recovery efforts a critical component of VMware s business continuity
  • Deploy and showcase VMware products for production/test/POC use cases
  • Work in an on-call rotation for weekday and weekend production support
  • Work closely with the Windows, Linux, storage, network, and application teams to achieve projects timeline for the business
  • Document infrastructure standards, process and workflows.
  • Manage patches, updates, and upgrades across all tiers of IT compute infrastructure.
  • Actively participate in VMware on VMware initiative to evaluate new releases of VMware software. This might also require meeting with external VMware customers to share our product deployment experience and other thought leadership.
  • Develop scripts and automation for to reduce repetitive infrastructure tasks
  • Maintain real-time status update with manager
Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree required. Degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with VMware vSphere, scripting and automation with vSphere API, or similar technology.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vCloud Suite (vSphere NSX, SRM, VSAN and VR)
  • Familiar with technology and open to pick up new technology skills.
  • Self-motivated, great attention to details, delivery on time, and ability to multitask
  • A positive attitude, strong drive for results, and the ability to deal with ambiguity are a must.
  • Applicants need to be comfortable working with others and in a team environment
  • Open to receiving constructive feedback and applying and integrating the feedback for improvement and growth
  • Demonstrates good judgment in analyzing information to make routine decisions
  • Python or any other Automation Scripting language (bash/perl/powercli/ruby/go, etc) is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, at least one of the following: Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt
  • Knowledge and understanding of enterprise IT processes and ITIL
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) is preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in managing the HP, or Dell server hardware
