Job Description Summary: The Engineering and Architecture team within the Commercial Bank is responsible for implementing engineering and architecture capabilities and best practices across the organization. Our work varies from providing thought leadership and reference implementations to actively engage in initiatives that drive best practices across Software Engineering Lifecycle, cloud enablement, Event Driven architectures, API first architecture and data management. To achieve this, the team actively explores and builds solutions that promote behavior driven architecture, data mesh and data migration, engineer analytics, compliance solution, testing frameworks to name a few. In addition, you will actively engage with the broader Commercial Bank & Global Technology community, which offers opportunities to engage in the larger technology landscape. Key technologies that we leverage include Java / AWS / SQL & NoSQL DBs / React / Kafka / EKS / Terraform
• Design, develop and test solutions to deliver shared services for the Engineering and Architecture Group
• Drive the exploration of new technologies and capabilities through development of Proof of Concepts, Reference Implementations, analysis and customization of inner/open source solutions in partnership with the architecture team
• Champion the onboarding and proper design of cloud environment in collaboration with delivery teams
• Actively participate in a DevOps culture including supporting CI/CD, development and maintenance of test automation, and Planning, Execution/Delivery and Management of Cloud ready software and infrastructure using Agile Methodologies
• Provide resolution to complex design and implementation issues and seek to drive automation
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and demonstrate the notion of High Craft Engineering by driving high quality and best practices into everything that you deliver.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript
• 2+ years of experience working with public cloud environments such as AWS / GCP / Azure or private cloud environments such as PCF
• Familiarity with related cloud native architectural patterns and technologies including REST APIs or event-driven micro services that leverage Kafka or SQS
• Experience with containers and other deployment environments such as PaaS, VMs, etc.,
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines that incorporate solutions such as Jenkins, .
• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Bonus points:
• 1 or more AWS certifications including AWS Solution Architect
• Background in building distributed applications in Java/Spring and React
• Exposure to automating environments using Infrastructure as Code capabilities such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Knowledge and hands on experience with Chaos Engineering practices
• Experience with highly complex cloud environments that span across multiple AWS landscapes
