Job Description

"

  • The Controls Officer will engage with the various stakeholders to help develop the business unit specific project plans and drive the execution of the plan in line with established deadlines. Each member of the team will collaborate with the global Compliance and Risk teams and other corporate and business teams supporting execution and monitoring activities.
  • Responsibilities will have focus on incident capture, analysis, observations, and remediation.
  • Monitor and serve as escalation for various incident response activities across multiple functions.
  • Provide the business with a controls Subject Matter Expert advisory service, adopting a partnership approach, in order to minimize risk and offering solutions to mitigate and lessen the cost of risk.
  • Perform detailed incident reviews for significant incidents; publish, review, and discuss observations and recommendations with/to senior management.
  • Represent the Global Delivery organization in multiple forums to drive consistent, risk-based solutions to adequately manage within the risk appetite of the organization.
  • Review/identify trends and themes across the organization. Document observations and liaise with first line of defense business lines and Operational Risk to document response and actions.
  • Review, evaluate, and recommend incident capture tool design and operating model. Manage first line of defense implementation and drive global process improvement, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Establish strong relationships with key functional teams including first line of defense business lines, Operational Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit. Instill confidence by demonstrating credibility and expertise on process, procedure, and control.
  • Maintain the highest level of personal integrity in all dealings thereby mitigating reputational risk to the firm and its customers.
  • Lead, motivate, develop and appraise each member of the team, ensuring individual and collective performance is maximized and meets the current and future needs of the business.
  • Other tasks as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree required, Masters or other advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with a large financial services firm or advisory/consulting firm including experience as an internal auditor, public accountant, compliance officer, or other controls-related services
  • Broad-based experience focused in risk management, regulatory compliance, control programs and project management
  • Ability to collaborate and drive execution at all levels within the organization
  • Exceptional ability to communicate in written and verbal formats to various situations and audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or work on large global cross-functional projects and act as a change agent
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff in a matrix environment
  • Strong communication, influencing, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated professional with the ability to work within deadlines and meet goals
