* Vice President Vehicle SoftwareDaimler Truck Innovation Center IndiaIn alignment with global restructuring of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz R&D India (MBRDI) - headquartered in Bengaluru has also be reorganized. A new company has been incorporated to steer all research and development activities for the Trucks & Buses business of Daimler Truck AG in India known as Daimler Truck Innovation Center India.StrategyDefine, implement & execute the Vehicle software strategy of DTICI ProjectsDefine and acquire business in line with the defined strategies and financial planning (budgeting)Safeguarding Quality and timelines (milestones) in the ProjectsProduct Development

• Identify and develop the core platform and application software for Daimler Trucks.
• Ensure accomplishment of activities and deliveries supporting the development and maintenance of our on-board SW platform in various domain like, ADAS, HMI, and Powertrain
• Also, responsible for building software that are leveraged by the Domain teams to create large scale impact

Personnel

• Manpower planning, development, allocation and deployment
• Enable high performance culture
• Ensure high level of commitment within department by inspiring and motivating employees
• Safeguard the critical resources and information

Budget

• Financial planning for the department
• Optimum utilization of the resources including budget to meet expectations of Daimler Truck
• Costing and pricing of the department activities to make DTICI a cost effective solution for Daimler Truck

Network

• Establish DTICI as accomplished partner within the R&P network of Daimler Truck AG
• Business development and process improvement through networking and contacts
• Develop knowledge channel with external agencies such as universities, educational institutes etc.

Process

• Lead direct reports through individual target agreements based on the companys strategy
• Review of target agreement, appraisal and feedback and ensure the goals are achieved
• Take initiative and be responsible to maintain and sustain an impeccable image of the organization & department regarding safety, quality, morale; environmental protection, and values of the organization.

Span of control:3-4 direct reports (E4s) at managerial level, more than 200 internal and over 90+ appx external employees Experience:

• 15+ years experience in positions of increasing responsibility in developing large platform based software
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing large teams

Specific Knowledge:

• Proven Object Oriented designer and implementer with strong understanding of software architecture.
• Deep understanding of software stack Operating system, middleware, cloud integration, Data Analytics
• Professional experience as an embedded C++ developer and Linux internals
• Deep understanding of software architecture including micro services, distributed computing
• Good understanding of vehicle architecture, vehicle communication protocol such as Ethernet/CAN/LIN/Flexray
• Working knowledge of microcontroller architecture, and real time OS; Autosar configuration
• Ability to manage large and intercultural teams
• Experience in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Good project management and people management skills
