We are dedicated to improving healthcare access for everyone and leaving the world better than we found it.Role and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for an Engineering Manager - data with 7-10 years experience working on the scalable services with at least 5 years experience in Data engineering and 3+ years experience working as a manager. This position requires knowledge and experience of Java, Python, streaming, batch processing, big data processing, monitoring and logging methodologies along with team management skills. You will be responsible for creating / maintaining Practo s Data system code bases along with leading a team of data engineers.

  • Lead a team of data engineers.
  • Work with Product managers and Engineering leaders to understand data engineering requirement for future and break them down into workable solutions along with your team
  • Help prioritise work coming in from multiple product managers with the help from the engineers in the team
  • Develop strategies for effective data engineering development and long term architectural planning
  • Select the right set of tools and strategies for long term development and maintenance of codebases
  • Be a technical subject matter expert and represent the full internal and external capabilities of the platform.
  • Work closely with business, product and other functions to define the product roadmaps
  • Improve on an existing stack of logging, monitoring and alerting
  • Hire and develop a high performing & accountable culture and team. Engage developers to listen into different forums to understand client behaviors & needs and provide innovative solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid understanding of the data engineering ecosystem.
  • Hands on experience in handling streaming data processing at 1000rps and batch data processing over 100TB per month.
  • 7-10 years of BE development experience with 5+ in the data engineering ecosystem.
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • In depth understanding of Java and Python along with AWS and Kubernetes
  • Experience leading a team of Software Engineers focused on improving developer velocity, scalability, or testability
  • Experience providing technical expertise throughout the product life cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of scalable build/test/release infrastructure.
  • Experience defining team strategy and roadmap for the adoption of developer tools and test infrastructure for one or more products.
