Candidate will work very closely with Morgan Stanley application teams worldwide providing operation support for SQL server plant. We provide operational support for critical business applications in Morgan Stanley that are used by internal and external clients. Presence of mind and decision making skills are a key requirement for this position. Extensive performance tuning and troubleshooting of SQL Server applications using DMVs and other tools is a must have requirement. Our India DBA teams are based in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Candidate should be able to lead and guide the team members and should be able to help with career development, performance management and other people management duties. Job Responsibilities. Lead a team of SQL Server DBAs, ensuring goal setting, career development, performance management and other people management duties. Ability to perform day to day database administration tasks with deep understanding of SQL Server internals e.g. Indexing, partitioning , filestream , Always-On , replication and Mirroring technologies. Troubleshoot and provide advice on SQL Server performance issues and be able to work with application developers and provide recommendations. Ability to work in shifts to provide operations support. Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards., * Required Skills Bachelors degree in computer science or related field. 8 to10 years of demonstrated experience as an SQL Server DBA. Prior experience working as a team lead is a must. Extensive experience with Performance and tuning skills with ability to handle urgent and time sensitive situations with presence of mind. SQL Server Integration services, SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Azure Knowledge of UNIX/Linux Microsoft Windows Powershell programming Desired Skills
