Specific activities may vary by Business Unit, region, site or assignment):

  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs
  • Supports analysis and design reviews
  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
  • Analyses functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture
  • Works under general supervision

  • Analytical Skills (Technical) - skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Computer Aided Design Tools - knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).
  • Design / Produce Process - knowledge of Boeing design, production, and build processes (e.g., maintenance access solid, dependability cost model, produceability trade offs) to effectively influence product design.
  • Drawings/Data Sys and Models - knowledge of drawings, data systems and models (e.g., used on drawings, part relationships, product data management) in order to understand design requirements.
  • Electromagnetic Interference/E - knowledge of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) considerations with respect to electrical/electronic design (e.g., wire harness design, grounding and shielding design techniques, lightning protection).
  • Must have experience in Electrical Wire harness Installation & Form board design & development lifecycle, should have thorough knowledge on wiring & harness component selections and experience in implementing EMI/EMC methods for electrical wiring design.
  • Expert in Electrical Wire harness Installation & Form board drafting standards knowledge, Expert in Catia V5/NX tool (Electrical/Formboard WB), Must have experience in preparation of manufacturing BOM.
  • Expert with thorough knowledge of MIL 704D, MIL-W-5088L/SAE AS50881, MIL-E-7016, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-461, MIL-B-5087 & DO-160 standards.
  • Expert in configuration management, requirements traceability and related processes.
Education:Degree and typically 6 to 8 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
