Responsible for managing an Investment Operations group. Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions. Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) is provided by the Global Fund Services business within Northern Trust. It offers both component and full outsourcing services tailored to the individual needs and requirements of each investment manager. The group provides investment managers with a comprehensive, high quality and flexible IOO solution, and have extensive expertise in providing a full range of middle and back-office outsourcing services. 1. Implements and leads several initiatives for the group 2. Tracks and reports process improvements, including benefits, time savings and resulting capacity 3. Collaborates across GFS groups/managers globally to ensure consistency in client delivery and transitions 4. Completes accurate and timely management reporting (Productivity Tracker, Competency Matrix dashboard, DM reports etc) 5. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and / or business knowledge and functional expertise 6. Focus of role is on execution of strategic direction of business function activities 7. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues 8. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity 9. Makes staffing decisions, manages expenses and salary review process for the division 10. Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met 11. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communicationA College or University degree and/or relevant Investment work experience is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required In-depth Investment/ Industry Knowledge is required Highly flexible and adaptable to change Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Units goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.Additional Information,
