Job Description

*Electromechanics/Electrotechnology, SeniorDesign Engineer TXT5The Senior mechatronic designer essentially contributes to technical excellence by understanding and meeting customer needs and requirements. An all-round team player, he/she uses knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, and mechatronic systems or products to lead engineering project teams and to interface with cross functional peers for the development of new offers or evolution of existing offers.He/ She drives, leads, creates, approves and/or reviews parametric models and drawings of electro-mechanical products, according to design intent and Schneider Electric best practices.Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions for external customers (electricians, installers etc.) and internal customers (marketing, industrialization, quality etc.).
  • Assist in the refinement of Marketing Offer Requirements.
  • Development of Technical Product Specifications and Competitor analysis.
  • Development of product architecture options and selection methods.
  • Project management skills: Project Schedule creation, resource estimation.
  • Ability to present and communicate clearly project summaries to internal stakeholders as well as senior management.
  • Facilitate the generation of prototypes for testing.
  • Author verification and validation plans including test method and acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee development of the product definition file: 3D component modeling, 3D assembly creation, 2D drawing creation using GD&T, BOM creation, and development of other specifications.
  • Contribute to development of user documentation such as instruction bulletins, safety labels, and product markings.
  • Desired analysis skills: FEA, kinematic analysis. Use of statistical techniques for analyzing empirical data.
Skill sets:Basic skills:
  • Candidate Should have a minimum experience of 7-8 years in Electromechanical / Mechatronic new product development with Agile mindset.
  • Basic Knowledge of Tooling and manufacturing process and different type of materials.
  • Should have good knowledge on Schneider tools and process like Symphony, Coda, Tempo, PDM, Phenix.
  • Should have good knowledge on different Prototyping technologies
  • Ability to manage the design activities independently and exhibit the ownership quality.
Core skills
  • Should have a strong hold on the Creo-tool to design parts in Plastic/Sheet metal.
  • Ability to carry out basic structural simulation and Mechanism simulation using Creo simulation.
  • Should be able to independently carryout CCX simulation.
  • Ability to identify the functional conditions in assemblies and do the tolerance stack analysis using Tolerance manager.
  • Should have very good knowledge on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Analyse risks of safety products. Quantify risks and develop mitigations using FMEA and FTA techniques.
Preferred skills
  • Having experience in Power products / LV panels.
  • Documentation of intellectual property, novel ideas for patent applications.
  • Basic knowledge on offers from Power products line.
  • Exposure to PMP as well as BOC projects.
