Roles and ResponsibilitiesJob Description SummaryThe CMPD Process, Tools and Initiatives (PTI) team is responsible for strategy, development and implementation of processes, data, access, tools, and procedures in CMPD. The automation team within PTI drives process simplification and application development across our plant and products for design, CAD, PLM and other offline manual processes. This position is for Lead Engineer responsible for project leadership in the development and management of automation tools that cover common applications across all our products and specifically support the needs of the Steam, Generator and HRSG design and product definition teams. This role requires a keen understanding of the NX and NX API toolsets and how to improve those systems for our users. Be part of a tight-knit team revolutionizing the way engineering, design, and manufacturing collaboration works at GP-CMPD. You ll support groups that build the groundbreaking technologies used in our Gas Power products. The team you will be joining is a complementary team of applications specialists, backend developers, and system administrators. Together, you and our team will enable engineers and designers to do phenomenal work to build phenomenal products. Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

• Lead the identification, development and delivery of automation products that drive project productivity and product quality across Heavy Duty Gas Turbine Combined Cycle and Aero derivative Product Lines.
• Idea management and Project and task management for automation products.
• Apply coding standards and application controls to deliver quality automation products.
• Lead and contribute to the strategic direction of automation products.
• Generate and analyze data to drive usage and ensure cost effective use of resources for application maintenance.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders through the life of applications.
• Maintain KPIs and develop where appropriate to track performance against customer expectations and team objectives.
• Lead harmonized process and requirements development in support of phased PLM implementation globally.
• Continuously develop team of subject matter experts in existing applications in order to support current execution.
• Work closely with engineering teams and product definition teams to identify automation opportunities and drive standard work through application use.
• Continuously streamline application discovery and development processes and controls.
• Proactive planning and driven attitude towards business initiatives such as Quality, Strategic Tool Roadmaps, Productivity (Lean), Development, Product Cost Out and Continuous Improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Computer Science.
• 3-5 years of experience in a design and/or manufacturing role, with a minimum of 3 years of that applied to power plant components.
• Demonstrated ability leading complex technical projects.
• Demonstrated ability to map and align functional requirements to NX capabilities / applications to provide best in class architecture & solutions.
• Understanding and Implementing Object Oriented Programming Skills / Language.
• Ability to travel regionally and internationally.
• Fluent in English.

Desired Characteristics

• Master s degree of Mechanical Engineering.
• Turbomachinery Engineering and Design Experience.
• Familiarity with Product Development, and Project Tendering and OTR execution processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of development and execution tool sets including CPQ, PLM, ERP, scheduling and document collaboration platforms.
• Domain knowledge in CAD Data Management, Change Management, BOM Management.
• Strong programming knowledge in the following languages: C#, Visual Studio CS.net or VB.net.
• NX Knowledge Fusion Programming Experience.
• CAD experience in NX (preferred), SolidWorks, Catia.
• Demonstrated understanding of scrum methodology and supporting tools. Demonstrated understanding of application lifecycle management.
• Demonstrated understanding of version control tracking software preferably Git and Github.
• Problem solving skills.
• Familiar with databases.
• SQL Knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with cross function teams.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with peers and leadership.
• Self-driven. Strong organizational, facilitation and leadership skills.
• Able to adapt and be effective when priorities compete or change.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities including working with large organizations and various levels of leadership. Able to present key data effectively and clearly.
