Job Description

Position reports to: PartnerPosition purpose: Lead large client engagements w.r.t business advisory, compliance and litigation along with managing a team of young tax professionals. Expectation is to independently generate new opportunities, build sector and technical expertise and contribute favourably to practice growth.Key AccountabilitiesRole DescriptorsMeasurable / KPI Market/ Client

  • Manage commercial aspects of engagements to achieve desired results of profitability and quality
  • Generate new business opportunities for tax as well as for the practice
  • Collaboration with other SL/Tax SBU s
  • Establish new client relationships and strengthen connect with the existing client
  • Maintain a balanced portfolio of clients & services through cross selling and repeated engagements
  • Good understanding of tax technology tools of the firm and be able to market them to the client
  • Leverage Tax Technology team to implement the most innovative and transformative solutions for our clients
  • NFR in own Name : 3 Cr 5 Cr
  • GP Ratio: (As per the SBU ratio decided with leadership)
  • Recovery: (Based on the budget sheets finalised), Cross sell (as a % of NFR) : 40%
  • Strive to be a sector and subject matter expert
  • Independently lead complex assignments w.r.t tax optimization, inbound/outbound structuring, cross border inter company transactions, tax assessments and related matters.
  • Mining additional billing opportunities from existing clientele. Enhance understanding of the KPMG Way and firm s approach to business development
  • Work with minimum 2-3 partners during the year to expand your exposure
  • Be a part of at least one Sector/Corridor/Solution and ensure that you re actively contributing towards it
Quality
  • Maintain objectivity and act with integrity on all engagements
  • Take responsibility for quality across sector/engagements to deliver exceptional client service
  • Ensures self and team comply with risk management requirements
  • Score during Client Opinion Survey : Less than 3 will impact rating

  • Arrange for regular client briefings to share progress, issues and newer developments and solicit client thoughts/feedback

  • Attend all mandatory trainings conducted during the year
  • Drive effective utilization across projects for self and team at all time through appropriate staffing, resource fungibility, etc.
  • Ensure optimum utilisation of ICOE
  • Drives Collaboration and honesty within team. Foster inclusive work environment within the group
  • Identifying and meeting the training needs of team members
  • Minimum 40 hours of technical skill trainings, 20 hours of enabling skill trainings and 20 hours of digital skill trainings delivered during the year
  • Accurate and timely updating of timesheets

  • Track 100% adherence to Tax L&D initiatives
  • Embrace yearly GPS results, feedback through 360-degree tool

  • Ensuring timely submission of timesheets by team members and team s utilization at 60% at all times

  • Manage all financial aspects (WIP s, billing etc.) and track deliverable progress on weekly basis
  • Leverage firm s internal tools and resources to up-skill team members. Reward team members for delivering high quality service through digitization/technology
  • Mining additional billing opportunities from existing clientele.
  • Track pipeline of clients with proposals delivered
  • Invest in cross functional and cross-country network to better articulate firm wide offerings. Additionally, attend at least 5 KPMG/Industry events to enhance client relationships.

  • Awareness about internal & external regulatory / independence requirements and strict compliance to the same

  • Ensure timely completion of all mandatory risk/independence training as per defined guidelines by the team
  • Pro-actively track incidents of personal independence breaches / violation of code of conduct / company policies and take corrective measures
  • Attend various KPMG Alumni events and scout for newer opportunities through the alumni network. Recommended to exploit social media as per risk guidelines
  • Champion one large scale initiative every FY offering client a newer perspective/innovative solution
  • Shows commitment to hire and maintain a diversified workforce.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified CA
Experience:
  • Min. relevant PQE is 10+ years from consulting/industry with expertise in areas of Corporate and International Tax.
