Legal Compliance & Corporate Governance (LCG) Technology provides operational controls and surveillance capabilities to enhance the firm s resilience to threats and fraudulent behavior. Our support of critical business functions extends to archival & records management, business continuity planning and due diligence investigations. This role is part of the Information Controls Technology (ICT) Department, within LCG. ICT is responsible for leveraging technical capabilities strategically and effectively to facilitate compliance with regulatory obligations and changing regulatory expectations around information barriers, conflicts of interest, communications supervision, controls around employee investing and activities. The candidate will join a team responsible for modernizing our technology solutions across the department that will also include aligning with Firms strategic priorities of cloud readiness, DevOps, platform reliability and automation. The team will operate as an agile squad or center of expertise within the department and work with the product owners on identifying and prioritizing the work to maximize the value delivered through our applications. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for hands-on development experience in Java, Spring, J2EE, Web Services, SQL databased development and Technologies across all phases of the software development lifecycle and assisting the Product Owner and squad in product delivery. The ideal candidate should have the skills listed below but in addition should be a self-driven, dedicated individual who works well in a team and thinks and acts strategically. When faced with a problem, the candidate should be able to ask questions and leverage the skills and expertise of those around them. Key Responsibilities - Design and drive execution on strategic technology solutions against our technical roadmap - Collaboration within the organization on current and future state architecture, including Cloud - Guiding junior developers on best practices for code management, automated testing, and behavior driven design - Contributing to team standards and improving processes - Enable implementation of long-term strategy towards our migration to our Cloud architecture, *Required technical Skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field 10 years of appropriate technical experience Complete SDLC process and Agile Methodology (Scrum), DevOps practices Strong knowledge of Core JAVA/J2EE, Spring, Hibernate Hands on development in Scala, Spark, Python and HDFS platform Solid understanding of DB concepts and working with relational databases (DB2, Sybase, SQL Server) Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks Familiarity with microservices frameworks and REST architecture Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs that work well within large-scale, well-structured enterprise environments Required Personal Skills: A very strong communicator with the ability to interface directly with clients and analysts to ensure technical requirements and delivery align with expectations Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions Effective communication, presentation, and collaboration skills Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks assigned Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy, demanding and team-oriented environment Good customer service skills. Ability to deal with difficult situations/individuals gracefully Skills Desired: Knowledge of Financial services Prior domain experience of legal, compliance and regulatory functions in capital markets Experience with ETL or Data integration tools like Informatica, TalenD Experience with Data visualization tools and reporting tools Experience with Cloud based tools and technologies UI Design experience, specifically for web applications Unix OS, Scripting, Python or Perl Experience in development on other application types (Web applications, batch, or streaming) Proficient in DevOps tooling and practices
