Job Description

  • To Drive Process Safety Management across Syngene
  • To manage activities in compliance to Syngene EHSS Policies, Guidelines and Standards and EHSS statutory requirements of the State & Central government.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Driving Process Safety Management Element Task team and workstreams meetings.
  • Conduct, Participate, Co-ordinate the Process Risk Assessments (PRA)/Risk Assessments for Process/projects/Facilities by providing expert support in PHA/PRA methodologies
  • Tracking of PSI, PRA, PSSR & MOC action items through Syngene wide, and follow up for closure.
  • Review and update the Process Safety Management documentation as and when the update arrives.
  • Prepare the EHSS dashboard and PSM KPIs on monthly basis.
  • Ensure conducting of internal EHSS audits, Special audits and EHSS Toller s audit across Syngene.
  • Responsible for preparation of internal audit scope and developing annual planner across Syngene. Pre-audit preparation, conducting audits, audit report preparation writes comprehensive, concise, and accurate EHS audit reports that clearly document and summarize audit findings. Track and follow-up of EHSS Audit observations (internal/external) actions items completion and compliance in line with the policy. Monitor the effectiveness of the CAPA implementation.
  • Responsible for tracking & follow-up EHSS incidents investigation & to ensure closure of investigation actions CAPA action items with the defined target dates.
  • Responsible for sharing of preparing of LIFE for the EHSS incidents and sharing across the Syngene wide
  • Responsible for Track and follow-up of action items/completion to ensure timing solution for action items from Safety board, OSLT, MREM, PSM workstream meetings.
  • Support for establishing, implementing and enforcing EHSS internal audit system throughout the Company.
  • Supporting for implementation of initiations taken by Syngene Kavach initiative.
  • To organize campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities to develop and maintain the interest of the employees in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedure.
  • Actively participate in the activities carried out regarding the safety in the concerned area
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the sector s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
  • Ensure client EHSS audit compliance and follow up with the internal team for action closure.
  • Ensure compliance with EHSS management systems and follow up with the concerned team.
  • Responsible for supporting for review of Job safety analysis and issuing authorization and monitoring of permit to work in the assigned area.
  • Responsible for supporting in implementing, maintaining and continually improving the Work Permit System & Contractor Safety Management.
  • To coordinate with external trainer/safety consultants and conduct EHSS Training.
  • Provide training to employees and contractors (as required) to assure understanding and compliance with Process Safety Management Standards and local process safety requirements
  • Participating in the safety interactions & Safety walkthroughs.
Educational Qualification:
  • Graduate Engineer in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in Process Safety Management at API/ Hazardous chemical process industries.
Technical/Functional Skills:
  • Well versed with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Projects
  • Good command in English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Have knowledge of risk assessment tools, such as PHAST, ALOHA, CRW, PHA, Dow Index, Chemeo etc.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess knowledge and exposure to the environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices.
Experience:
  • 6-10 years of total experience in process Safety management at chemicals-based pharma industries.
Behavioral Skills:
  • Ability to multi-task and independently handle cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in leading projects and managing client relationships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work with cross-functional departments, manage client relationships.
  • Effective communication.
  • Knowledge and application of the subject.
