Job Description

  • You have experience managing the knowledge functions within a legal operation, such as a law firm, corporate team or legal process outsourcer. You have been responsible for onboarding, mentoring and supporting a team of contract analysts or legal knowledge professionals.
  • You will be part of the team that creates models that our software products use to classify legal documents by type, find the relevant text within them, and analyse those parts in the way a legal reviewer would.
  • As a legal data specialist, it will be your responsibility to help deliver the models that meet customer needs, function as intended, and continually manage the model s performance through multiple lifecycles.

  • Implementing machine learning (teaching the machine) using iManage s AI tools, and validating the performance of the models
  • Management and career development for a team of Contract Analysts
  • Devising and executing strategies for data acquisition and large legal library management
  • Continual management and improvement of machine-learning models and the associated processes
  • Managing the lifecycle of a variety of machine-learning models, including definition, review, validation, publishing, and on-going enhancement
  • Providing performance feedback to the team of Contract Analysts in accordance with iManage policy and helping to create development plans for long-term growth
  • Supervising projects and troubleshooting barriers
  • On-boarding new hires into the team and educating others within the iManage business about the purpose and processes of the Knowledge Engineering team
iM Qualified Because I have
  • A Law Degree
  • 6+ years experience as a practicing Attorney or legal Knowledge Manager
  • Excellent people skills and past management of teams
  • Expertise or keen interest in legal technology, legal knowledge management or associated concepts such as contractual review, legal taxonomies or ontologies
  • A degree of technical understanding of themes and concepts prevalent in machine learning technology
  • Continuous hunger for learning and quick to learn new technologies and concepts
  • High attention to detail a keen eye for detail both in teaching the machine and in the management of the underlying projects
  • Optimism and high energy that motivates those around them and never lets barriers get in their way
  • Leadership qualities and am able to inspire others to get the best out of them
  • Proactivity and am able to monitor the process and people in the team
  • Capability to use initiative to bring defects or issues under control and to resolution as fast as possible
