Job Description

20035 Operational Engineer Senior (Open)Position Type:Full timeLocation(s):IN.Bangalore.Office1Summary:An Operations Engineer Senior is expected to be an expert in infrastructure as code and automation to deploy it to support CSG enterprise applications. Employee leads projects and work activities to include design and development efforts for infrastructure as code. Directs full lifecycle planning, installation, administration, tuning, and monitoring of enterprise infrastructure to support application performance. Employee is accountable to ensure that requirements for enterprise deployments are accurately estimated, appropriately utilized and consistent with enterprise architectural standards. Through their efforts, availability, performance, integrity, audit compliance, and quality of infrastructure are assured. Employee is responsible for effective infrastructure as code management and to drive new automation implementations to meet future requirements. An Operations Engineer Senior has an automation focus with a tactical and strategic awarenessPosition Details:Eligibility : BEB.TechBCAMCA with 8 years of experience in the below mentioned IT technologies.Candidates applying for this position must be willing to work in 24/7 work environment and support oncall on weekdays/weekends.WORK Schedules: 24/7 working environment with 3 shifts.1st shift 6AM to 2:30PM2nd shift 12PM to 8:30PM3rd shift 10PM to 6:30AMBelow are the mandatory skills for the Operational Engr Sr position :

  • Basic understanding of Database technologies: MSSQL, MariaDB(MySQL), Oracle, and Postgres
  • Scripting/coding experience using common Linux-native languages: Bash/Korn shell
  • Experience using modern source control repositories
  • Background of using/coding of configuration management tools including Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Knowledge/experience with the main Linux distributions, and ability to describe core differences: Debian & Red Hat
  • In-depth experience troubleshooting and isolating Linux issues using tcpdump, strace, etc.
Below are the nice-to-have skills for Operational Engr Sr position :
  • Complex coding experience using programming languages, including but not limited to: Python, Perl, Ruby, Ruby On Rails, and JavaScript
  • Ability to write SQL queries in Postgres and MariaDB
  • Experience managing and configuring CI/CD Pipelines
  • Experience automating the deployment of Linux operating systems in Cloud environments such as AWS and Azure
  • Hands-on experience creating and managing Kubernetes clusters/containers Knowledge of log-aggregation toolsets: ELK stack, Graylog, Splunk, etc.
  • Handle routine incident tickets, general issues and change requests.
  • Tracking issues and managing projects using JIRA.
  • Monitoring servers using tools like Nagios and Zabbix.
  • Liaising with architects, database and application teams to assess server requirements and specifications.
  • Build, delivery and support of Linux servers. (VMs).
  • Patching for security and compliance.
  • Using ITIL based ticketing systems like BMC Remedy/Helix
  • Planning and participation in BCP test events.
  • Server decommissions.
  • File system administration using Linux Volume Manager.
  • User administration - Active directory and local accounts.
