Job Description

  • Responsible for the complete performance testing lifecycle including requirements analysis, test scripting, execution, analysis and reporting
  • Working with project stakeholders to define performance testing requirements (e.g Response time SLAs, throughput and testing load profiles)
  • Creating performance testing artefacts relevant to the methodologies being used by the project team (e.g. Performance test plans or Rally tasks)
  • Defining any additional requirements to facilitate performance testing (e.g. data, environment and monitoring requirements) and providing any support to ensure the requirements can be met
  • Creating performance testing scripts using the load testing scripting tool
  • Configuration and execution of performance tests
  • Analysing test results and test outputs including response time measurements, throughput, infrastructure resource utilisation and application logs
  • Providing regular reports and updates to the project team
Technical Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience running performance tests against a variety of platforms/frameworks (e.g. Apache/Tomcat, JBoss, Oracle Weblogic, Spring, .NET)
  • Experience testing applications utilising different databases (e.g. SQL Server 2016, Oracle 12c/19c)
  • Experience executing tests with high volume requirements
  • Programming knowledge in different languages:
    • Java (MUST)
    • C / C++ (Nice to have)
  • Experience using a variety of performance testing tools:
    • LoadRunner / Performance Center (MUST)
    • Jmeter (MUST)
    • Gatling (Nice to have)
    • The Grinder (Nice to have)
  • Experience running performance tests across a number of protocols (e.g. Web, Web Services)
  • Experience implementing performance tests within a CI/CD pipeline
  • Certification related to testing best practices (e.g. ISEB/ISTQB)
