About the Mentor To Go virtual mentoring platform:

Mentor To Go is an android and web based virtual mentoring platform to help students improve their work readiness through self-learning sessions , personalised mentorship provided by mentor professionals from a range of careers, and skill building opportunities . Our vision at Mentor to Go is to provide career mentorship to young people anywhere, anytime across the length and breadth of India.

The technology platform implements functionalities such as: screening surveys of mentors and mentees, an individualised learning management system, matching through an algorithm, mentorship through structured activities, calendaring, progress tracking, rewards and encouragement.

The application technology architecture comprises of the following:

o a Python Django web application with NGinx and Gunicorn

o PostgreSQL database

o A React Android and Web app

o Rest APIs which interact between the Android app and the Django webserver

We are seeking a Product Manager (PM) who is passionate about building products that empower young people to actualise their potential, contributing to larger societal development. The PM will serve as a product owner within an agile team. They will write user stories, prioritize the product backlog, and work closely with engineers on the team to implement the stories, acceptance test them and release them periodically to production.

The responsibilities of this role span across these categories:

• Product roadmap

• Identify metrics to evaluate product performance

• Work with program team and developers for data reporting on these metrics

• Plan for periodic qualitative feedback collection from users and collect such feedback with the support of program team and/or user research consultants

• Conduct sector research (youth mentoring/youth development) and wider market research/scans to identify design and feature trends

• Prepare product roadmaps based on all data collected

• Requirements documentation : For each major new requirement prepare a document containing the following as applicable

• Overview and business purpose for the requirement

• Interfaces with existing functionality

• Functionality details including logical database requirements

• Non functional requirements such as security, performance, usability

• Data migration/production rollout considerations

• Broad acceptance criteria

• Technical project planning management

• Break down the requirements into epics and stories

• Prioritise the stories and get them estimated

• Setup code branch for new release

• Plan the stories for a sprint taking into account interdependencies

• Coordinate daily standup meetings to unblock dependencies

• Review design/implementation documents

• Conduct sprint retrospectives

• Testing Release Management

• Test stories either independently or in conjunction with program team members

• Identify stories that are ready for release

• Run a set of regression tests for the application

• Deploy the release in production

• Prepare release notes and make it available to internal (program team) and external stakeholders

• Support community documentation

• Technical documentation design/implementation details

• Internal documentation/video/demo for program team

• End user documentation

Requirements

• 3 years of experience driving product management end to end from defining user stories to testing and deployment of features

• Experience in internet technologies based product development for the web as well mobile devices, with some recent hands on development experience on applications using Django, React, Postgressql

• Ability to translate product needs to technology, participate in technical discussions and help make technical trade-offs

• Strong technical leadership, project management, analytical problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Team player with an ability to interface and build relations with a range of teams

• Initiative taker with a demonstrated ability to achieve goals
