Job Description

Product Security Response Engineer Product Security OfficeThis role has been designated as Edge , which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of and managing inbound reports of security vulnerabilities, engaging directly with researchers and internal development teams to drive issues to resolution.
  • Drafting publications for the disclosure of security vulnerabilities
  • Communicating status of PSRT involvement at all levels of management, both internal and external
  • Engaging other HPE support functions such as Corp Comm, Legal, Global Cybersecurity etc. as required
  • Conduct and/or lead root cause analysis of vulnerabilities
  • Responding to and managing customer-impacting security events
  • Working collaboratively with experts across HPE to troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical problems.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Typically 10 years experience.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, ECSA a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of the HPE bug resolution process and associated tools
  • Understanding of HPE s software release process for all products.
  • Effective written and verbal communication for various audience or issue complexity
  • Ability to assemble and lead virtual teams to resolve security incidents
  • Proven experience dealing with escalated, customer-facing issues (security preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry practices for responsible disclosure of security threats and product vulnerabilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively and remotely with others to accomplish goals
  • Threat modeling
  • Secure code review, analysis and vulnerability assessment
  • Security testing, e.g. fuzzing and pen-testing
  • Applied cryptography and security protocols such as TLS, PKI, PKCS, etc.
  • Product security incident response
  • Binary analysis and malware/exploit reverse engineering
  • Operating system security and hypervisor security
  • Trusted execution environment
  • Hardware security including access control, secure debug, side channel attacks
  • CPU microarchitecture including cache, pipelining, out of order execution, etc.
  • Teamwork across various teams and geolocations
  • Ability to influence outcomes
  • Time management and getting things done
