QA ( X - store) Consultant Bangalore, Full time Position Summary We are looking for a dynamic Test Analyst who is technical and understands the big picture. You will be working on multiple POS Retail Projects (Support) . The bar for delivering high - quality applications is high. Your test plans are strategic. You dive deep but also ensure full end - to - end testing coverage. You have test automation experience to improve testing efficiency. You take pride in your work and enjoy finding defects and narrowing down issues. You have solid verbal and written communication skills. You can work with team members onshore and offshore. You work effectively with Service Delivery Management and Service Consultants. You have a passion for quality. You deeply care about the end - user experience. Responsibilities: Prepares and implements systems quality assurance reviews for Oracle Retail applications and any other applications as delegated Responsible for primary development of test strategies Consults with service delivery manager/ project manager, business users, service consultants, other stakeholders to provide advice and direction Performs complex analysis of business requirements and system requirement specifications As required, serve as a coordinator for all testing activities on a project Able to create the test plans and scripts at own Able to lead and review test plans written by others Able to perform Build Deployments (Xstore Suite) in the LAB Perform sanity/ regression testing of the Builds as and when released by the Service Consultants Able to maintain (setup registers for new customers) the Micros Xstore LAB Provides specific guidance on defects to developers Work closely with developers and help in reproducing any production issues/ incidents Facilitate the logging, reporting, tracking, and resolution of application issues Gives direction to less experienced analysts Documents all phases of the Systems QA process Preparation of test closure document Essential skills: Retail / POS Systems testing experience, experience with Oracle Retail applications (Xstore Suite, CE, OB, XBRi, ORPOS Suite) preferred Strong SQL skills Experience with authoring and executing test plans and test cases, and defect tracking Understands and uses testing methodologies and processes Good organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products XML skills and the ability to read JAVA desirable but not mandatory Proficiency in several skill areas such as Java programming/ debugging, SQL or Oracle databases, web services hosting platforms (WebSphere, Apache/ Tomcat, etc. ) preferred, administrative scripting (PERL, Bourne Shell, etc. ) Understanding of fundamental networking protocols and services (TCP/ IP, DNS, HTTP) Familiarity with multiple operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, commercial UNIX such as Solaris or AIX. ) Good Knowledge of different Testing types: Functional, Integration, System, Compatibility, Regression, Smoke/ sanity, Performance and Ad - hoc Testing Strong written and verbal communication skills Should possess strong analytical skills Desirable: 3+ years development and/ or systems integration testing experience of Oracle Retail application (Stores Suite) Basic commands of UNIX (HPUX, AIX, Solaris) / Linux 3+ years in the Retail industry or an associated Retail IT field Packaged Software Applications: Oracle Retail (Stores Suite) , BIP, any automation test tool, knowledge of Performance testing
