Senior Information Systems Engineer - IT Utility and Infrastructure TeamPosting Location : Location ES-RemotePosting date 13 hours ago(10/14/2021 11:13 AM) About the job The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) Utility and Infrastructure team is looking for a Senior Information Systems Engineer to join us remotely in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) countries like Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, or Poland. In this role, you will provide Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to our end customers for our infrastructure services like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform engine, DNS, Satellite, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), etc. You will build automated infrastructure solutions using latest tools and technologies. As a Senior Information Systems Engineer, you will have a touch point with various aspects of infrastructure like virtualization, public and private cloud, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), authentication, and authorization and monitoring. You will respond to and resolve incidents and alerts, fulfill service and change request tickets, and assist in process improvement, documentation, and automation. What you will do

  • Collaborate daily with globally distributed team members and other engineering and development teams to build automated infrastructure as a self-service
  • Follow company policies and processes while completing technical tasks and implementing technical solutions
  • Provide an on-call coverage during working hours as part of a rotation, as well as periodic rostered and planned on-call support on weekends
  • Identify, document, and assist in the automation of our infrastructure services
  • Advance innovation through the use of Red Hat s technologies that are new or still in the product development pipeline
  • Travel when necessary to another Red Hat s office for assigned work, meetings, or training, following Red Hat s COVID-19 guidelines
What you will bring
  • Extensive experience with Linux and Unix system administration
  • Ability to write automation scripts using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or similar technologies
  • Significant experience developing scripts and automating tasks with Python or Bash
  • Expertise across key systems administration areas like operating systems, virtualization, systems, configuration management and orchestration, source code management, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and containers, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • High level of ethics and computer security practices skills as at this position you may handle confidential company data
  • Positive approach toward customers; ability to cooperate and communicate well within the global team
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodologies, including configuration management database (CMDB), incident, problem, and change management
The following skills are considered a plus:
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification or other Red Hat certification like those related to Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or Red Hat Satellite
  • Experience with Puppet, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Splunk, NetApp, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Storage and Red Hat Virtualization technologies
  • Demonstrated experience participating in projects or coordinating project efforts in a globally distributed team
  • Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) processes and tools
