Job Description

*Job DescriptionTitle: Senior Patent ProfessionalEducation: Bachelors or Master s Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Electrical & Electronics/Mechatronics/Control SystemsExperience: Minimum 5 years of experience in patent evaluation, research, patent drafting and filing in the automotive relevant technologies. Additional experience as R&D engineer in an automotive/industrial organization would be preferred.Job Responsibilities:

  • Closely working with the R&D engineers to spread IP awareness, mine patentable inventions, conduct evaluation reviews, patent searches and make patent filing decisions
  • Implement IP strategy, policy and inventor engagement programs for the respective business units
  • Interface with the Innovation leaders and leadership teams on tracking IP KPIs and driving strategic initiatives
  • Liaison with external partners: Law firms and vendors for patent drafting, filing and research
  • Drive initiatives to continuously improve the quantity and quality of patent portfolio
  • Conduct activities for IP risk clearance and management
  • Performing IP audits to identify opportunity for strategic IP creation, protection and commercialization
  • Collaborate and network with IP stakeholders within Daimler and across Industry
Skills Required:
  • Quick learner, ability to understand and go deep in diverse/complex/emerging technological areas relevant to automotive domains
  • Prior art Searching, patent drafting, patentability assessment
  • Patent research, landscaping and whitespace analysis
  • Project Management skills
, *Preferred Qualification
  • Registered patent agent/attorney with the Indian patent office preferred
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in & contribute as a good team player
  • Experience in the automotive field and exposure of multi-cultural environment is an added advantage
  • Basic knowledge on German language preferred
