• Champion service reliability and prevention You will be part of the Service Engineering team, whose mission is to improve the efficiency of hosting operations and cloud based business services, in partnership with our service partners. You will also work on developing new offerings for Managed cloud on OCI platform
• Service design and implementation As the Oracle Cloud evolves; you will collaborate with different cloud support organizations in defining and implementing improvements to service architecture, both current and future. You will also be designing and developing new tools and processes to make it easier and faster for the teams to support and deploy services in the cloud.
• Automation You will have a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles, and will be eager to automate, wherever and whenever the possibility arises, while simultaneously eliminating technical debt. Automation must be part of your DNA.
• Represent Service Engineering team - Proactive, self-motivated, customer-focused, organized, and a good communicator. Site Reliability Developer can be expected to represent Cloud products and engineering in sensitive forums.

What you will need to be successful:Site Reliability Developer is a development engineer with system administration knowledge and have the ability to understand and explain the effect of product architecture decisions on the ability to run as distributed systems. You are driven by professional curiosity and a desire to develop a deep understanding of the services and the technologies they depend upon. You are passionate about automation, and can demonstrate practical knowledge of various aspects of distributed service design, including messaging protocols, caching strategies, persistence technologies, and queuing.

• Experience of driving change within an organisation, pushing through resistance and success in adopting new ways of working
• Ability to follow standard engineering principles using Agile development methodology and DevOps practices, including CI / CD and test automation.
• Must have demonstrated a curious, questioning mindset in previous work, along with a creative and analytical approach to problem solving
• Most importantly, the aptitude to be a good team player and the willingness to learn and implement new Cloud technologies as needed
• Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Bash, Python, Ruby, Powershell, Javascript. Python would be an added advantage
• Good Oral and Written communication skills
• MCA, BE or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent
• At least 2-3 years of software development and experiencein shipping at least one release
• Over 5 years experience running large scale customer facing web services with a solid understanding of:
  • REST API development
  • Cloud PaaS/SaaS/IaaS environment
  • Linux/Windows/Solaris administration
  • Server hardware configuration
  • Networking and TCP/IP
  • Standard Internet services, such as DNS, HTTP, etc.
  • Configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack or similar
  • Container and Container Management technologies
  • Monitoring and Instrumentation
  • Infrastructure Security and Compliance
  • Database technologies; Oracle preferred
  • Git branching strategies and distributed development
  • Defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products

Detailed Description and Job Requirement Being a member of this software engineering division, you will

• Perform high-level design and develop by studying information needs, conferring with users and studying the system flow, data usage, and work process
• Solve complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence
• Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services.
• Design and develop designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.
• Design and implement changes to existing or new software architecture.
• Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
• Defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products
