Job Description

Roles & Responsibility:Wholesale Loans Technology supports Commercial Lending activities (Bi-Lateral or Multi-Lateral Loans) for multiple lines of businesses of JP Morgan Chase. This role is for a hands-on Senior Associate to work with the Wholesale Loan Technology team at JPMorgan, Bangalore office. As a member of the Loans team, you will be part of an agile feature team collaborating with the product owner and team members to provide quality technology solutions that address line of business needs. You will also be working hands-on in writing programs using Core Java, Web apps and Stored Procedures. You will be designing and implementing the emerging architecture of the system, recommending UX standards, and contributing to architecture workshops. You should bring strong communication and comprehension skills, strong design and development experience and experience working in an Agile environment with continuous integration and delivery. You should be able to apply your experience to identify the right path forward, execute the next steps and get work done as an individual or as a team or with management support. You should be able to collaborate and work effectively in a team and across teams. A successful individual will be a problem solver, bring in development efficiencies to the team and improve the velocity of the team.Specifically the role requires you to:

• Develop solutions using Java8,Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST services, JavaScript frameworks AngularJS 4.0, Cloud Ready Micro Services, Elastic Search, Kafka and Oracle 12c
• Teach technical feature teams about clean code, design principles, test driven development techniques, continuous integration and deployment tools and techniques.
• Help determine and socialize good practices across multiple facets code, processes, tools and behaviours
• Working hands-on with feature teams to guide them in writing efficient programs and effectively leveraging best practices
• Contribute to code review sessions, design review sessions with feature teams.
• Effectively present strategic design solutions using UML diagrams, whiteboarding and collaboration tools, etc.
• Build subject matter expertise in the Agency Loans and Loan Trading businesses, covering syndicated loans and commercial loans.
• Translate business requirements into efficient software solutions. Contribute to automated testing strategy and implementation.
• Work with scrum masters, coaches and program management to understand impediments, help raise visibility and eliminate them
• Resolve production issues by performing root cause analysis, coding immediate solutions, and ensuring smooth deployments
• Work collaboratively in an Agile Feature team setup with team members located across different locations
• Maintain Scrum Discipline, focus & deliver tasks in a timely manner as per Sprint plans
• Build new skills in order to contribute as a multi-functional team member (potential areas for secondary skills: Cloud readiness, Security, Monitoring and measuring tools jMeter/AppDynamics/Geneos etc, Business Analysis)
• Perform appraisals for team and manage performance - Objective setting and feedback

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree - preferably in Computer Science
• 8+ years of IT development experience.
• Very Strong Java/JEE skills Expertise in Spring framework (newer versions preferred),
• Hibernate/iBatis, REST services, JavaScript frameworks - AngularJS/Javascript/jQuery, Bootstrap.
• Experience in building applications with microservices patterns and being cloud ready.
• Having hands on experience with messaging framework like Kafka, JMS (QPID, MQ, UM, etc)
• Experience with Test driven development, Continuous Integration and Deployment practices and tools (Jenkins or equivalent, Git-Stash, developer efficiency tools).
• Demonstrated ability and experience in leveraging design and architecture principles to implement business requirements.
• Passionate about technology, problem solving, learning new skills, sharing expertise and knowledge, coaching technical team members.
• Experience with technical coaching and leading highly technical teams. Ability to recommend technical improvements and drive implementation in the organization.
• Strong database stored procedure experience (SQL/PL), Ability to write and refactor complex SQL
• Very strong written and oral communication
• Very good presentation and influential skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience with developing and maintaining applications in Amazon Web Services(AWS) and/or other public/private cloud
• Experience with Elastic Search, GraphQL, Drools
• Experience in application testing and monitoring frameworks jMeter, AppDynamics, Geneos, Fitnesse, Selenium etc.
• Working knowledge of Loan IQ UI, APIs and data model
• Experience working in a financial services environment
• Knowledge of Loans products and servicing
