Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.Join us as a Principal Software Engineer on our Engineering Development team in Bangalore to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.What you ll achieveAs a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.Role OverviewDell Client Software s Analytics & Cloud Solutions team is looking for a Senior Software Data Engineer with proven track record of delivering enterprise level data management and analytics solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with other technologists, architects, experience design engineers, product marketing and software engineers to define the architecture, explore technology alternatives and implement those solution with focus on efficiency and reliability.Role Responsibilities

• Working with external partners and internal Dell technology, marketing and engineering teams to define and architect solutions related to telemetry and analytics
• Identifying and working with software and hardware partners to assess data technologies and roadmaps for inclusion in future solutions
• Being the technical expert and resource for the overall data management and/or analytics
• Performs analysis and design for medium-sized to large or complex development and maintenance projects
• Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of technology principles, best practices, and procedures to the completion of complex software development assignments
• Develops complex code and configuration data using secure coding practices
• Ensures that all code, configuration data, and system documentation is accurate, complete, understandable, and adheres to company standards
• Address security vulnerabilities by using tools to assure security, analyze outputs, and recommend corrective actions

Essential Requirements

• Hands-on experience with big data platforms and tools including data ingestion (batch & real time) and transformation (Hadoop, Hive, Map Reduce, Kafka, Spark, Elasticsearch)
• Hands-on experience with Data Modeling techniques like dimensional modeling etc.
• Deep understanding of database and analytical technology platforms like MPP (Teradata, SQL DW), SQL Server and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB, HBase, Cassandra)
• Hands on experience with Data transformation technology platforms like Spark, Python, Scala, R, Hive, SQL
• Deep understanding of cloud computing infrastructure and platforms specifically Azure (Azure stack Azure streaming analytics, Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory)
• A clear understanding of cloud service and deployment models
• Experience working on or leading agile development teams (ideally leveraging Scrum or Kanban) A software development or DevOps automation background is a big plus
• Experience working on a team delivering a customer facing product

Desirable Requirements

• Typically requires 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor s degree; or 6+ years with a Master s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, TeamCity, and other Continuous Integration tools
• Understanding the git source control system like GitHub, Stash etc.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Deployment tools
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and product development lifecycle
