The team keeps a watchful eye on the System Performance, Capacity, and failure modes to ensure high availability, and ability to grow.

• You will set direction not only for your team but will help guide Instabases engineering vision
• You will architect important systems and anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term planning
• You will write code as we expect our technical leadership to be in the trenches alongside junior engineers, understanding root causes and leading by example
• You will mentor engineers, both junior and senior
• You will own relationships with other engineering teams and collaborate with other functions within Instabase

About you

• Engineering degree (B.S. or higher, e.g., MS, or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
• 8+ years of experience working in Production Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Network Engineer, or equivalent positions
• Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g. Python, Go, C++, others)
• You may have past experience across (one or more of) following areas -
• Operating systems, TCP/IP network fundamentals or storage systems
• Applications such as container orchestrators, caching systems, messaging systems or databases in production environments
• Infrastructure provisioning, management and automation tools as Code / Automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
• Platforms and tooling for build, CI/CD infrastructure and operations (e.g. Bazel, Jenkins, others)
• Proven track record of senior technical leadership
• Strong knowledge of shipping impactful and complex software projects
• Ability to set technical and cultural standards for engineers
