Job Description

Position Title: Systems EngineerPosition SummaryUtility experience, hands-on experience in any MDM product preferred, understanding on RF mesh, star fish network, database experience, hands-on experience on writing queries, scripting, webservice knowledge, REST API, soap. OS knowledge- Basic Windows and Linux skills. Basic understanding of Active Directory, Networking, VMs.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs and procedures will be written and systems will be implemented.
  • Has full technical knowledge of all phases of solution engineering and project management as well as development and design work.
  • Has good understanding of the business or function for which solution is designed.
  • May support application use and deployment.
  • May communicate directly with customers on a daily basis at all managerial and working levels within customer organizations and within Itron. Listens effectively to understand and address the overall impact of issues as they affect the customer (processes, resources, time).
  • May conduct customer support independently.
  • Directs solutions to hardware, software and process related issues through analytical thinking and planning. Defines and implements workarounds, process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Documents and communicates issues and resolutions using a variety of formats. Logs issues, tracks progress and updates the customer, the departments involved and internal/external management. Creates and updates knowledge base documents.
  • Submits timesheets and customer issue updates in a timely manner.
  • Interface with and assist internal Itron groups such as Customer Support, Network Operations, Product Management, InfoSec and Engineering.
Required Skills
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in solution support.
  • Sound knowledge in modules like billing, meter read and meter management.
  • Scripting with PowerShell.
  • Webservice knowledge, SOAP and REST API understandings.
  • Proficient Microsoft OS knowledge.
  • Understanding on cloud-based architecture.
  • Basic Utility (Electric/Water/Gas) business/metering/product understanding.
  • Basic understanding in debugging/programming.
  • Knowledge on Oracle and SQL Server installation and troubleshooting connectivity and user s accessibility issues.
  • Utility experience is preferred.
The Following is Considered a Plus Experience in any Meter Data Management product preferred, SQL database. experience, hands-on experience on writing queries, scripting, webservice knowledge, REST API, soap.
