Job Description

    Design Engineer will be placed in CCMD Design and development team for Product development and design activities. Role and responsibilities will include working with cross-functional team (across geography and domain) to develop new products and/or design change. Provide engineering support for design and development activities for new and existing products. The candidate will act as a subject matter expert for design and tolerance analysis throughout the R&D organization to promote best practices. The ideal candidate will bring experience in developing products for the medical device industry with a commitment to growth and upholding the implementing DFSS methodologies and principals throughout.Educational BackgroundBE/ME (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical) or in related technical fieldProfessional Experience2~5 years of total professional experience in similar role with preferably 1+ years in medical device R&D in capacity to innovate, try new ideas, design, and develop productsExecution experience in developing new product or product redesign (innovation, design, product life cycle). Candidate with medical device knowledge will have added advantageWorked in regulated industry where quality system drives integrated project plans encompassing all cross-functional activitiesExposure to Quality systems processes and ISO standards used in medical device industry (minimum: ISO 13485, ISO 14971) will be an added advantageJob ResponsibilitiesThe design engineer will be responsible for supporting design and development activities for new products and improving upon existing product lines. S/he will be accountable for projects deliverables in individual capacity to execute and deliver work packages on time at right qualityWork as a member of a global R&D team as a component design lead to engineer robust and manufacturable products through strong understanding and application of engineering fundamentals.Knowledgeable of and experienced in the application of engineering best practices including: DFSS, DFM/A, Design optimization, DOE, Specification translation into design outputsWell versed in use of statistics in Design decisionResolve technical problems. Create solutions for technical problems using systematic problem-solving methodologies and engineering principles (first principle, DOE strategy, first principle, FEA conditions, test plans)Deliver design solutions to meet customer requirements and verify that specifications for product systems, subsystems, interfaces, and components meet customer requirements and maintain traceability matrix throughout the development processUnderstanding of medical device design control and a commitment to ensure quality systems are followed during each step of executionTasks are well planned and communicated. Documents & controls are well drafted, assessed, reviewed, presented, and approved with compliance to BD quality policies and proceduresWriting detailed technical reports, Memo, Rationale and reference Study documents to advance design or design changes for productsRight candidate will drive CAD + Tol-stack knowledge and electromechanical focus activities.
