Job Description

    Solution Manager GTM: For Open-RAN, RIC & SMO Role Overview The role of Solution Manager GTM is an exciting opportunity in NEC to technically lead and front the Customers for an integrated solution portfolio built in in-house (with partner products) in the area of Open-RAN, RIC (RAN Intelligent Controller) and Service Management & Orchestration (SMO) in programming the behavior of 4G/5G open virtual Radio Network.NEC is growing its 5G business internationally and is looking for a best-in-class technical solution manager to lead its Open RAN products in the area of Network Management, Automation and E2E Orchestration. NEC has been a pioneer and an early leader in Open RAN, with publicly announced deployments at some of the most advanced telecom networks such as Rakuten and Telefonica. Together with NEC s 5G RAN, Core and Netcracker s orchestration systems, Open RAN is an important part of NEC s growth in telecommunications. Role Requirements
    • Key interface with key stakeholders (customers & vendors) to determine the technical requirements for the proposed integrated solution.
    • Key interface to establish and maintain strategy for Next Generation Network Management (SMO/RIC) product portfolio including applications (xAPPs/rApps) and use cases related to automation & orchestration.
    • Work with Engineering teams (internal and external) to discuss & reflect customer requirements in system integration, product feature set & potential road map during PoCs/Trials.
    • Engage with strategic vendor partners for mutual co-operation to reach customer end goals and building total end to end integrated ORAN solution
    • Responsible for RFx activity for Network business in the area of 4G/5G Open-RAN, RIC , SMO & B2B Proposal (Solution Compliance & Solution Documentation).
    • Good multi-tasking abilities, with multiple concurrent customer engagements
    • Lead test validation & discussion of integrated ORAN solution in Customer labs and field.
    • Engage in with customer in advocating NEC integrated solution and its use cases
    • Strong influencing ability capable of shaping customer vision & thinking at all levels, from C levels to engineering
    • Maintain contact and open communication with customers to assist & provide inputs for solution strategy and other SI capabilities.
    • Own Open-RAN, RIC & SMO product portfolio, End to End integration and test beds and vision of future upliftment
    • Active contributor to the continuous improvement of NEC s OpenRAN strategy
    • Produce and maintain tools, processes, procedures and documentation for use by Sales, Pre-Sales, PLM & Business Development Groups
    Candidate Requirements
    • Experience in Wireless telecommunications (4G/5G) in a technical capacity, with particular emphasis in NG-SON/OSS/NMS/EMS/Optimization for customers
    • Experience in Virtualization solutions such as Kubernetes, Docker, VMWare or Cloud deployments such as AWS or Azure
    • Hands on experience on Telecom Traffic Engineering, Network Dimensioning, Design Optimal BoM for PoCs & trials.
    • Knowledge of industry standards, forums and architecture including 3GPP, ORAN, ETSI, TIP, TMForum and ONAP (LFN).
    • Familiarity working with server hardware, switches and other networking equipment
    • Previous experience in solutioning/designing for brownfield/greenfield scenarios
    • Excellent customer facing presentation, articulation & interpersonal skills
    • Ability to present complex arguments in a clear and concise way, present with a confident and knowledgeable style, and be able to smoothly handle difficult customer questions in a technical capacity.
    • Motivated to self-explore, build on ideas and solve customer deployment challenges
    • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent (Masters an advantage)
    General Work Environment: Work from home / remotely/ or in one of NEC s office when / if appropriateTravel: Must be able to travel internationally up to 40% of their time,
