Key Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:As a Java/web application development engineer, the incumbent will be working in the developing Engineering applications that are used by Caterpillar employees to flash the application onto Engine and Machine systems in the factory. Incumbents primary responsibility is Engineering application development used by applications team to support Caterpillar Engineers by using Enterprise Java, J2EE, Springboot with C#/.Net while using SQL for the database. The incumbent will be interacting with the process partners on any specification & requirements clarifications. The incumbent will be updating software using configuration management tools such as GIT. The scope of work will include application development and unit testing while upholding coding standards. Caterpillar encourages innovation and a can-do attitude to delight the customers.Required skills:* Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering * 8+ years of experience in desktop/web based Application development * Advanced proficiency in Java 8 or above * Advanced experience in both Struts 1.3 and Spring 3 or higher, and proven experience migrating from Struts to Spring. * Experience with WebSphere 8.5 or above * Oracle 12 writing SQL and Stored Procedures * Hibernate * Web UI programming (JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, JSTL) * Jersey/Jackson/OAuth2 Restful Web services * M/V/C and Chain of Responsibility design patterns * Excellent time management and communication skills Desired Skills:* DB2 SQL * Junit/JMock * C# with .NET * Azure DevOps/Git/Maven * Python 2.7 and higher * Apache Commons libraries * Extreme components * Engineering application development experience * Positive outlook, strong work ethic, willingness to learn and grow ,
