Job Description

Works with Project Managers to guide their software/systems engineering staffs in alignment with and in adherence to the predefined standard SDLC and architecture principles; to define and implement a solution architecture that optimally satisfies functional requirements of the customer; and to develop and execute migration strategies that help transition the customer from its existing state to future state. Expected to be able to operate at a granular level (code/script/debug and model/document; act as a final point of escalation for infrastructure and application issues resolution) as well as at a higher level (provide executive level consultation on technology management; participate in the development of business strategies and business planning).Job Description

  • Responsible for the creation of architectural guidelines for current and future solutions delivery activities; maintains, in collaboration with Quality Assurance team, the integrity of the architecture design and ensures the architecture principles are followed by the solutions delivery team.
  • Assists in the development of procedures and certification requirements for compliance with industry standards, data administration, system development, software releases (version control, packaging of releases, etc.), software distribution, OS, hardware and middleware.
  • Proactively assesses the solution architecture to identify potential problem areas; assists in devising targeted metrics to assess implemented system performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Defines migration strategies and transition steps from the current state to the future state of the customer s systems including introduction of new features and interoperability with existing applications.
  • Defines and assists with the implementation of source code control, knowledge management, project management portal and change management systems.
  • Provides expertise to identify and translate functional requirements into system design documentation; work with technical writers to ensure quality internal and external client-oriented documentation.
  • Interfaces and coordinates tasks with both onsite and offshore technical resources; collaborates with Delivery Managers and Quality Assurance team to provision estimates, develop overall delivery plan, and serve lead as required.
  • Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, planning, design, and analysis methodologies. Participates in conferences and educational seminars to improve individual technical capabilities.
  • Works under general direction but will be expected to use discretion in identifying and resolving complex problems and assignments.
  • All other duties or responsibilities assigned as needed in order to make the company a success.
Required Skill Set
  • Has strong leadership but is also hands on, detailed oriented and have ability to provide appropriate solutions to problems and quickly adapt to changes and new ideas.
  • Retail and Supply Chain solutions implementation experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail stores business operations processes.
  • Data/Object Modelling and Use Case driven requirements analysis skills.
  • Full lifecycle experience in developing business applications using C#/Java, SOA and RDBMS.
  • Experience in knowledge management systems and Visual Studio Team System is a plus.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Master of Science or Engineering is required within a technical field.
