Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION The Senior Associate SA is responsible for the financial matters of the Company and its affiliated organizations. The SA will report to the Vice President, Finance . The SA, will oversee compliance (central, state, local as well as client driven) activities of the firm. S/he must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous, detail oriented and dead line oriented workplace while managing a small finance staff. Specific responsibilities include: Finance

  • Cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Management of firm assets, banking, insurance and other vendor relationships; plan and lead negotiation activities on behalf of the firm.
  • Develop and utilize forward looking, predictive models and activity based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization s operations and business plans.
Planning, Policy, and Client Relations Accounting Administration Qualifications The SA with at least 3-4 years of broad finance experience, ideally beginning in finance or audit, followed by experience gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to senior leadership. S/he will ideally have experience managing finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) and capital allocation for a company with multiple funding sources. The SA will have the following experience and attributes:
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Develop financial business plans and forecasts.
  • Participate in corporate policy development
  • Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short, medium, and long term financial plans and projections.
  • Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investing clients, auditors, public officials, etc.
  • Remain up to date on audit best practices and local, state and central law regarding investment firms.
  • Proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions ; ensure records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for the firms investing clients, and the Companys board of directors; preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for investing client assets, and for the firms own accounts.
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance of all functions.
  • Contract origination, review and negotiation.
  • A minimum of a B.S or B.A or B.Com.
  • At least three years of experience in an audit firm.
  • Significant experience in or knowledge of accounting, including fund accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Experience in or knowledge of information technology, capital allocation and purchasing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, negotiating skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, attention to detail plus excellent organization skills.
