Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our Structures departmentAs a Senior Structural Engineer in the Offshore structures, you will be reporting to our Team Leader (Jacket) / HOD (Structure) of the Chennai office as well as the Head of Department for Offshore Structures.As Senior Engineer - Your primary role will be to perform the offshore jacket engineering/design activities. The team will function as a Global Engineering Centre (GEC) that will provide services globally. You will perform all technical design activities and be responsible for the execution of projects. Another part of the job will be to contribute to tendering activities.Your other tasks will be distributed in to 3 key areas to:Profitable performance.

• Ensure that the team reaches its goals in time.
• Ensure a consistent and client focused service offering
• Support the Liaise between Chennai office and other Ramboll offices (mainly Esbjerg, Copenhagen, Doha, Oslo)

Capable to perform offshore jacket design individually. As a minimum

• In-place analysis (VIV, grout connection etc.,)
• Installation analysis such as sea transportation analysis, load out analysis, lifting analysis and design of padeyes/Trunnions (on-bottom analysis)
• Wave induced fatigue analysis (Deterministic & Spectral)
• Ship impact & pushover analysis
• Understanding of local FEM analysis for FLS and ULS strength check
• Cathodic Protection Design
• Wave slamming and slamming fatigue analysis
• Reinforcement/reassessment of existing jackets (Clamps, grouted joints, etc.,)
• Understanding of Geotechnical design
• Preparation of weight report and MTO.
• Preparation of design basis/design briefs.
• Input to designer and Drawing check.
• Take actively part in jacket design competence group and participate in the development of tools and procedures across projects/disciplines.
• Share knowledge across offshore jacket engineering teams
• Familiar with International standards i.e.: API, NORSOK, DNV, ISO etc.
• Travel activity can become a part of it (max- 10-20 days per year) Denmark, Middle East, Norway
• Preparation of CTR s (cost- time- and resource estimates) for tenders globally.
• Should be able to learn and work in Ramboll in house software (ROSAP) for offshore structural analysis.
• Partnering and relations
• Ensure close relations between own team and related teams/departments in DK and ME
• Mentor to junior engineers
• Supervise Designers.

• B.E. / M.E. / B. Tech. / M. Tech in civil or offshore engineering (from reputable university).
• 8 years experience in design of steel structures for offshore Oil & Gas/Energy installations.
• Minimum 2 years of experiences as senior engineer with tasks such as Feasibility, Concept and Feed Studies for jacket structure.
• Good experience in jacket installation studies - concept arrangement and detail design including constructability report preparation is preferred.
• Good experience in jacket secondary steel design by means of hand calculations.
• Advantage with experience from the oil and gas India or Middle East.
• Know and have worked in the 3D beam element program (SESAM, SACS or similar).
• Hands on experience on international codes such as ISO19902, API, DNV, NORSOK, NOBLE DENTON etc.
• Can assess on his/her own, the appropriate analysis type to be applied for a structural problem. I.e. the ability to choose the best solution strategy: linear/nonlinear FEM, hand calculations or engineering judgement etc.
• Ability to document that potential overstressed member has adequate resistance via hand/desk calculations, Mathcad etc.
• Good working experience in MathCAD and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge in VB macros (preferred).
