Job Description

*JOB DESCRIPTION

  • To assess the patients on admission.
  • To take detailed history and physically examine the patient.
  • To be responsible for sending the patient for the appropriate investigation as directed by the primary consultant.
  • To obtain required Consent from patient or patient s surrogate whenever / wherever required.
  • To visit patients in the bedside and assess the patient on timely
  • To complete the Patient rounds as per the shifts and fill the case sheets and progress notes without fail as per the guidelines.
  • To be responsible for providing adequate treatment to the patient as advised by Consultant.
  • To check and sign the dosage, frequency, route of administrations of all medications considering all precautions.
  • To write and maintain patient medical records as per hospital policy.

  • To take appropriate initiatives in Medical Emergencies when required.
  • To prepare the discharge summaries well in time and brief the patient about the follow-up and medications on discharge, etc.
  • To do call duties as per duty roaster.
  • To follow the hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensure the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
  • To be an active member for the quality initiatives of the department.
  • To oversee the clinical work of junior medical staff of his / her clinical unit.
