Do you like collaborating across teams to solve complex problems Do you enjoy solving large scale distributed systems problems Join our Mapping SRE team!Our team is responsible for overseeing Akamais mapping system and working cross-functionally to improve its availability, reliability, performance, observability, and change management procedures. Our team defines key performance indicators (KPIs), advances the state of measurements, monitoring dashboards, alerts and operational responses, and investigates complex production issues.Partner with the bestAs a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and benchmark the performance of Akamais mapping system, and influence its evolution.As a Site Reliability Engineer Senior II, you will be responsible for:
• Recommending and carrying out measurement-based initiatives to identify opportunities to improve the availability, reliability, and performance of Akamais mapping system
• Collaborating with internal teams to recommend and advocate for system improvements throughout the development lifecycle, e.g., new system and feature design reviews
• Owning the development of tools, measurement dashboards, alerts, and procedures
• Participating in troubleshooting production issues and advising corrective steps, as well as in enhancing and carrying out software change management-related operations
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
• Have 5-10 years of experience and a bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering or another related field
• Demonstrate programming experience in one or more languages, e.g., Python, C++, C, and Java
• Have knowledge of computer networking, Internet protocols, and/or network performance
• Have an understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems internals, and/or distributed systems
