Senior Software Engineer - Go and SaaS PlatformLocation Brno - FBCIPosting date 6 hours ago(6/28/2021 5:03 AM)Job ID 87004 Job summary The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Dot Platform team in the Czech Republic. In this role, you will work as a member of a team responsible for developing, managing, and adding features for the console.redhat.com Sources application. Our application helps internal applications connect to the public cloud without needing to code all the mechanics for doing so. The world of console.redhat.com is fast-moving, learning-focused, high-trust, and transparent. As a developer on the team, you ll write code, review pull requests, fix bugs, and experience agile development and application deployment. You ll need to be bright, friendly, and collaborative and love to learn. Primary job responsibilities

  • Develop new features that will support management of an existing Ruby application while we simultaneously move it into the Go language
  • Help with processes and best practices for complementary patterns in Go as explained in existing Ruby code
  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for our customers, including product and infrastructure enhancements
  • Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements
  • Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that features are tested correctly
Required skills
  • High-level expertise in software development using one or more programming languages, preferably Go or Python
  • Experience with GitHub, GitLab, or other collaborative code forges
  • Experience with agile and being comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Experience with the following is considered a plus:
  • Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • Open source software
  • Back-end development frameworks like Django
