Job Description

    You have a passion for developing new, innovative technologies and operating them at scale as an SRE. You have experience working cross-functionally, across different business units, teams and technology stacks and differing service architectures. We provide a reliable service with an enterprise-level SLA and strive for 100% customer support satisfaction. We increase overall confidence in the services that are being delivered and ensure proper communication to VMware customers during any disruption of normal operations and timely service restoration. We develop new innovative frameworks, services, integrations and platforms that enables our teams to operate seamlessly across the business.Required Skills/Experience4-5 years of related experience in the industryStrong communication skills with an ability to relay incident details expeditiously, concisely, and accuratelyHighly motivated, quality conscious self-starter that requires little to no supervisionIdentify, receive, triage and act upon events and incidents coming from various SaaS servicesConsistently meets or exceeds established Command Center key performance indicators (KPIs)Experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, Go and/or NodeJSExperience working with production SaaS/Cloud based systems.Experience with Unix/Linux OS/ DockerExperience working with tools like escalation applications: Pagerduty, VictorOps, OpsGenie, etc.Experience working with communication tools: Slack, Azendoo, HipChatExperience working with notification tools like Statuspage.io, status.ioDomain knowledge of systems management and ITIL is strongly desired.Good working knowledge of at least one public cloud such as AWS or GCP.Ability to work with geographically disperse teams part of a world-wide operations teamExperience in 24/7, 3 shift operations and rotational weekend coverage (still only working 40 hours a week)Desired Skills/ExperienceVMware Product Knowledge in vSphere, ESX, Virtualization and other VMware Product familiesNext generation application delivery and deployment methods, containerization, orchestration, etc.Automation background (Rest-API, Ruby, Chef and more)Good working knowledge of at least one public cloud such as AWS or GCP.Experience with infrastructure configuration and/or workflows tools; i.e. Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, StackStorm, etc.Knowledge of build automation and continuous integration/delivery processes and tools: Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Docker, Nexus, Artifactory, SeleniumRequired QualificationsBS Degree in Computer Science, or a related field.,
