Job Description

sr.engineer sqa in chennaiClient is a leading MNC based in Chennai. JOB TITLE: Senior Engineer - SQAKEY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Drive supplier identification, assessment, and development as per procurement commodity strategy / global sourcing needs.
  • Facilitate completion of Supplier Technical Feasibility Commitment process to ensure supplier Production Process & Quality engineers, and APQP managers understand Company s requirements. Manage supplier APQP / project management process to ensure suppliers tooling and production, and PPAP schedules support the company s schedule requirements.
  • Conduct Supplier Production Readiness Reviews to validate the capability and capacity of supplier s production processes.
  • Manage Supplier Change Management Process effectively and communicate to the Plant at the appropriate stage of production.
  • When appropriate, conduct on-site supplier process assessments to define process improvement action plans.
  • Identify and motivate suppliers on continuous improvements approach (Using Lean Manufacturing principles) and proficient in the commercial understanding of process cost verification/validation.
  • Support Plant quality engineers needs to help suppliers manage an effective closed-loop 8D defect prevention process.
  • Participate in the planning, developing, and implementing supplier quality engineering procedures and Company Supplier Manual.
  • Supports Global Sourcing actions as per global commodity team strategy plans and drive regionally at supplier base to meet global expectations on Quality, delivery, and responses.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong Project management and Global Engineering Collaboration, Facilitation skills, Strong in all core quality tools.
  • Knowledge of international quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015, and IATF 16949:2016. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel including Macros, PowerPoint skills, and good communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of statistics required for validating Analysis of Process Capability
  • Good Technical Expertise on Key commodities like Castings, Stampings, Plastic Injection Moldings, Rubbers Aluminum extrusions etc
Education required
  • Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 6-8 years of automotive industry experience; leading AIAG - APQP, PPAP, and 8D Corrective Action Processes.
