Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.The Case Management and Investigation Tools team is part of the Compliance Engineering organization and is responsible for building platforms and applications for implementing global regulatory policies, safeguarding our payments ecosystem and the PayPal Brand. As a Sr. Engineering Manager you will be responsible for multiple engineering teams working on our platform. You will help lead the team by crafting a strategic vision and roadmap, and drive initiatives to build clean, robust, and performant features at PayPal.Things you ll do:

  • Motivate, lead, coach, and mentor engineers and managers
  • Iterate with our UX and Product teams in an agile environment to bring features from conception to launch
  • Collaborate with platform and infrastructure engineering teams to ensure the apps operate at scale and meet security requirements
  • Think outside the box and build a culture of innovation.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and shared knowledge. Advocate for development best practices
  • Foster a collaborative attitude within the team and across the broader Venmo organization
  • Manage team performance -- leveraging strengths and ameliorating weaknesses
  • Play a key role in people-related initiatives including recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, training, career advancement, etc.
What we are looking for:
  • 12+ years of experience in Software Development, with a Computer Science/Engineering degree, preferably from a top tier institute.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing software engineers and managers.
  • Excellent knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, XML and Web and relevant technologies
  • Experience building and running highly scalable cloud services.
  • Management principles aligned with the core values of PayPal i.e., Collaboration, Wellness, Innovation and Inclusion.
