Job Description

Business Function:Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.Job Purpose:Financial Crime & Security Services team plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing financial crime risk and controls across the organization.Key objectives of this role are: Lead development and implementation of financial crime related processes and systems for the bank in India.Support digital transformation initiatives of business and also work on initiatives to enhance customer experience to ensure that Customers live more and bank less. Position DBS to be bank of choice.Key Accountabilitie:

• Be responsible for overall coordination of all financial crime and security related activities for the bank being based out of Chennai location.
• Ensure that the bank complies with regulatory and internal guidelines related to financial crime.
• Work with stakeholders including business and support unit to foster a strong risk and controls culture within the organization.
• Work with stakeholders to provide exceptional customer experience.
• Manage the team effectively and ensure that team members are highly engaged and facilitate joyful employee experience.
• Coordinate the integration while driving consistency and alignment with the DBS Standards/Policies related deliverables for the.

Job Duties & responsibilities:

• Develop and implement policies, standards and practices that are necessary to meet obligations pursuant to internal guidelines of the bank and extant regulations.
• Timely response to the regulators, internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the offsite team based in Mumbai regarding the efforts for all the FCSS verticals Fraud Investigations, Transaction Surveillance, AML/KYC and Physical Security
• Ensure effective management of key verticals under financial crime security services including AML/KYC Advisory, Transaction Surveillance Unit, Fraud investigations, Fraud Detection and Physical Security.
• Promote transparent culture in the bank and encourage better awareness and handling of Speak Up cases where employees discretely escalate issues
• Work closely with the colleagues / counterparts within the country and at Group level to ensure compliance to regulatory guidelines.
• As a subject matter expert in areas of financial crime, provide appropriate guidance and track implementation of policies and processes related to financial crime across the organization thereby providing a strong second line of defense to business units.
• Ensure development of the team and continue to build a strong and engaged team to manage various activities within financial crime security services team.
• Design effective staff awareness programs / trainings and assist teams in
• Cost management and budgeting.
• Timely management of all the deliverables to RBI and FIU / other authorities for FCSS
• Coordinate trainings, awareness and enhance the fin-crime prevention culture
• Manage the team onsite as a site leader through dotted/direct reporting or as a team of people from location though not directly reporting to the site leader while maintain joyful work culture in the team
• Manage the Key Risk Indicators, Key Performance Indicators within the FCSS function besides handling management routines with the stake holders
• Coordinate effective management of internal / external audits and inspections
• Manage the work in line with the Bank s core values
• Handle Fraud Investigations matters, reporting, enhancement of preventive controls and enhancement of awareness amongst the employees of the Bank to do the right thing
• Work closely with the function leads based in Mumbai / Singapore who handle the FCSS workstreams on Surveillance, AML/KYC , Fraud Investigations and Physical Security .

Experince:

• At least 15 years experience with more than 7 years experience in managing financial crime function for financial institution.
• Excellent managerial, communication and inter personal skills.
• In depth understanding of regulations related to financial crime, Anti Bribery Corruption and related areas.

Education / Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated work experience
• Sound knowledge of banking and other financial services products
• Preferred ACAMS, ACFCS / industry certifications in the areas of Financial Crime
• In depth knowledge and understanding on aspects related to AML/ KYC, Fraud investigations and physical security.
• Post Graduate/ MBA Certifications like ACAMS would be added advantage.
