The Lead Engineer leads the design effort for assigned projects of CIRCOR Aerospace Defense and reports to the Group Engineering Manager at CIRCOR Flow Technologies India Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore India.
This position requires interactions with other engineering associates, suppliers, and functional department personnel (production, purchasing, quality, program management, etc) in a Concurrent Engineering environment to develop producible and economical design solutions, across the globe.
Design development knowledge in mission- critical flow and pressure components such as controls for braking systems, primary, and secondary flight control, fuel control valves, solenoid valves, shutoff valves, manifold valves, pressure switches and self- sealing couplings are desirable. Hands- on participation in the test laboratory for assigned design validation activity as well as product preparation activities.
Principal Activities
Technical Engineering Lead for Aerospace and Defense business units both local (Coimbatore, India) and Global Provides expert- level technical design and analysis support and serves as the final technical authority Provides technical oversight and mentors/develops younger engineers Consults in the review and validation of customer requirements Drives design concepts and prepares/oversees technical proposals for new business opportunities Reviews and approves 2D drawings, BOMs, and all design related documentation or reports Leads or supports internal and external design reviews

Knowledge Skills Abilities
Lead Engineer from reputable high pressure hydraulic or pneumatic valve company Vast knowledge on codes and standards pertaining to valves in aerospace and defense industries Strong knowledge of and experience working with customer and industry- specific requirements/standards across the product life cycle Ideally, a working knowledge of FAA Part 23 and 25 Aircraft Certification processes Ability to challenge CFD, FEA, and safety/reliability analysis Ideally a working knowledge of test procedures according to MIL STD 810 and/or RTCA DO 160 Working knowledge according to AS/EN9100 standards Strong knowledge of component design and analysis techniques and utilization of best Engineering practices. Must understand the principal of cost and process effective design Understanding of Requirements Management, including change configuration management, traceability, validation and verification, etc. Excellent 3D modeling and associative 2D, 3D drafting skills using one or more CAD tools such as Solid works or equivalent Engineering software tool. Hands- on knowledge in GDT, following ASME Y14.5 standard is desirable Exposure to design calculations to find the flow analysis, torque structural integrity of components. Education:
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university Masters of Engineering or equivalent preferred and ideally membership of a relevant professional institution Experience:
7-12 years of applicable experience in the development, design, and testing of complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydro-mechanical components and assemblies The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in the design of aerospace industry fluidic control valves, DC motor operated valves, solenoid valves, directional control valves, servo-valves, and hydraulic actuators
