Job Description

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Alstom has set up an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and this coupled with a strong manufacturing base as well as localized supply chains, is uniquely positioned to serve customers across the globe. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLEThe Site APSYS Leader will drive and coordinate locally (within a site/ cluster/ project) with all m tier the APSYS (Alstom Performance System) roadmap. APSYS Deployment - Animate, coordinate and challenge improvement actions to reach APSYS targets defined with each m tier based on APSYS roadmaps using APSYS toolbox to deliver operational performance & develop local best practices that will be shared with the steering committee. Qualifications and Skills Education:
  • BE/ME in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering Industrial Engineering specialization would add more weightage

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
  • Thorough knowledge on Lean Methodologies with hands-on experience in Operational projects implementation
  • Work on strategic transformation using site SQCD objectives and APSYS roadmap
  • Train people on APSYS program, methodologies and tools in his site / project.
  • Support each department in APSYS deployment by providing on field expertise on lean & continuous improvement tools
  • Facilitate and coordinate all improvement actions to reach APSYS targets defined with each m tier based on APSYS roadmaps
  • Consolidate and report deployment status to Managing Director and APSYS Central team
  • Responsible of self-assessment consolidation and APSYS assessment week / support mission s
  • Preparation (logistics / accommodation, agenda, people availability)
  • Perform APSYS assessments in other sites / projects
  • Participate to APSYS events (webinars, APSYS award.)
  • Contribute as trainer to global training program deployment (eg: TrAMway, AQP/AQL, etc) in other sites / projects
  • Share good practices & benchmarks (internal / external) within APSYS network)
  • Successful Lean impact on the m tier
  • Progress from Y-1 to Y on APSYS maturity
  • Site KPI improvement
  • Drive 5S culture & Improvement across site operations
  • Work towards shop floor employee engagement on SGA/QC Circle projects
EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET
  • Experience of minimum 10-14 years in Manufacturing/Lean/Operational Excellence
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
  • IT Skills, MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Master lean principles (5S, Standard, Gemba, VSM, problem solving, performance and kaizen mindset)
