Job Description

Job Summary

  • Business Development Specialist CE & HID will be responsible for achieving and exceeding the assigned territory sales plan. Responsible for developing business opportunities, technical and application-based sales strategies, presenting and promoting Forensic & Capillary electrophoresis Platforms & Consumables.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of customer technical requirements, translating and communicating with emphasis into producing effective sales training and strengthening the complete workflow selling concept.
  • The Specialist must demonstrate deep technical credibility to influence key decision makers in the field of Forensics & Clinical on technology and product choices. Manage internal resources and their deployment for successful platform and consumables implementation.
  • Strong business acumen is desirable to translate successful account strategy into business results.
Job Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed CE & HID business goals agreed upon with Thermo Fisher Scientific commercial management for the territory.
  • Managing Premier Products assigned in AOP viz. Forensic, Clinical & Research solutions including Instruments and Consumables. Effectively compete to win projects against competitors. Successfully position our solutions to address performance, workflow and budget.
  • Collaborate within a matrixed organization (Regional Teams, Application Support Marketing) to identify opportunities within territory to foster relationship between key customers to generate demand for related product lines
  • Drive existing funnel of opportunities to accelerate closure rates.
  • Responsible for working with regional sales teams for collecting tender information, making sure right tenders are pitched for and keeping a record of regional Win / loss for the tenders
  • Understand Workflow requirements, drive additional Consumable utilization across accounts and target new customers and customers not using or partially our solutions and convert the business.
  • Engage in the creation and communication of scientific information, education, and the development and engagement of key opinion leader relationships
  • Achieve targeted no. of Product Seminars, present in conferences within each quarter and track the leads generated.
  • Conducting Sales Training to Internal Teams and Dealers
Qualifications
  • MSc. in Life Sciences, OR PhD
Skills and Experience:
  • 3+ years of Sales Experience in Life Science Industry, experience working with Govt Sector preferred
  • Experience in Executive-Level Customer Engagement and ability to comprehend, utilize & communicate technical information.
  • Experience in Molecular Biology Techniques like Sample Prep, qPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis (Sanger) Sequencing, NGS.
  • Scientific Consulting Acumen- deep technical ability to consult with customers on their testing needs to maximize technology utilization and promote current advances in protocols, assays and capabilities. Understands and navigates competitive offerings to best position solutions.
  • Sales Acumen- Consult with customers at a defined list of Forensic & Clinical accounts to build relationships and focus on project needs and workflows to drive implementation of Thermo Fisher Scientific s HID solutions. Successfully maintains current run rate business and drives additional consumables implementation.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (almost 50%).
  • Teamwork- Successful experience working in a team environment.
