Job Description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  1. Detailed benchmarking of different systems and subsystems of interior exterior and trims components of the BEV
  2. Manage system, subsystem and component level design requirements through cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  3. Preparation of concepts and detail parametric design (parts and assemblies) in CATIA V5 for BEV s interior, exterior and trims components such as console, dashboard, frontend modules, front and rear bumper, door trims, instrument panel, quarter trim, glove box, grill, sills etc., in a complex packaging environment from predevelopment to series development phase
  4. Evaluate, balance and trade-off the design concepts for the attributes such as DFA, DFS, cost, quality and time
  5. Interface and DMU analysis, generate a report and seamless coordination with internal and external stakeholders to resolve packaging and integration challenges
  6. Preparation, review, control and monitor Design Quality Assurance (DQA) documents and its major elements such as Benchmarking, Design Concept Sheet (DCS), GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA, DFSS, DFS&R, DVP&R etc.
  7. Optimize the concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments
  8. Active involvement in vehicle proto and production proto build activities at in-house assembly facilities as well as at customer vehicle assembly facilities
  9. Vehicle build concerns recording, monitoring and resolving by coordination with internal and external stakeholders using problem-solving tools such as 8D, FTA etc.
Functional Competencies / Skills critical for the job
  1. Experience transitioning products from paper to production
  2. Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them towards design and manufacturing process development
  3. Proficient in parametric CAD modelling, CATIA V5 experience is mandatory
  4. Proficient in PDM software specifically, Teamcenter (PDM software) and release process
  5. Very good knowledge on Engineering Materials specifically, plastics, Fibre-reinforced plastic, Sheet molding compound, composite materials and light weight material
  6. Very good knowledge on manufacturing process specifically, plastic injection molding, SMC compression molding, vacuum forming, rotational molding technology
  7. Good knowledge of Design Quality Assurance (DQA) and its major elements such as Benchmarking, Design Concept Sheet (DCS), GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA, DFSS, DFS&R, DVP&R etc.
  8. Broad experience working in cross-functional teams (technical and nontechnical) to ensure product manufacturability, cost, quality and project timeline adherence
  9. Very good knowledge in problem/troubleshooting techniques (8D, FTA) experience and design process auditing capability
  10. Exceptional capacity for managing simultaneous activities, challenges, self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
  11. Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
  12. Very well versed with Industrial Standards both voluntary (SAE, ISO, IEC etc.) and mandatory standards (AIS, FMVSS, UN, VDA, GB etc.)
  13. Good knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle
  14. Basic knowledge of E&E systems and its architecture, electronic components and its function, and electrical cable routing in CAD
  15. Good knowledge of IATF16949/Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and internal auditor as of plus
  16. Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis
