Job Description

This position will be responsible for supporting the companys IT infrastructure and handle systems administration tasks. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for providing timely and accurate end-user level 2 technology support to internal and remote employees; as well as engineering innovative and productivity enhancing solutions by means of automation. Candidates must have strong troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Introduce new ideas/innovations to increase productivity.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Pro-actively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support
  • Troubleshoot remote user issues including VPN, smart phones, and hardware failures often over long-distance connections and across time zones
  • Communicate with vendors, as required, for troubleshooting and scheduling maintenance
  • Documentation of procedures and policies
Job Qualification:

Education Background:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science (CS) or information systems (IS), or equivalent work experience.

Work History:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration and level 2 help-desk support.
  • A stable work history
Technical Background:

Required Skillset:

  • Basic networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Basic Desktop/laptop Hardware troubleshooting /OS Installation & troubleshooting
  • Software Installation & Troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of IT services and applications including, but not limited to Active Directory, DHCP, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP, SMTP, IIS, anti-virus and anti-spam/spyware blocking technologies
  • Vendor Management. (Example Dell, LifeSize) - Should be able to coordinate with multiple vendor for resolution of IT issues.
  • Install new enterprise software releases and system upgrades. Evaluate and install patches, and resolve software related issues for end users using client management tools such as Microsoft SCCM, WSUS & Casper.
  • Research and utilize innovative technology solutions to common problems.
  • Should have Experience on Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, ADS.
  • Scripting skills
  • Prior experience supporting Windows 7/8.1 in a Windows 2008/2012 AD corporate environment

Desired Skillset:

  • Experience with Office365
  • Knowledge in Cloud Compute - AWS and Hyper V / VMWare technologies.
  • Basic administration of VoIP phone system (adds and changes) - experience with Aterisk a plus
  • Experience with Linux Operating System Software.
  • Experience working with VMware based virtual environment.
  • Experience with LAMP stack and Linux/Unix based mail systems.
Personal Background:
  • Strong communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and resilience.
