Job Description

Perform complete life cycle management of compute hardware, including deployment, configuration, refresh, and decommissioning
Engineer solutions to operationalize and automate compute functions
Provide engineering support for compute infrastructure; this will include monitoring and troubleshooting compute-related problems
Extensively partner with business groups and vendors to consult on technical solutions which move the business forward
Manage chassis and blade-based infrastructure and standard rack mounts
Troubleshoot and remediate all hardware via manufacturer support agreements
Consult on hardware-related issues as part of collaboration within major infrastructure projects

What you will bring

Extensive experience working with Cisco UCS hardware in chassis, blade, and rack-mount configurations
Extensive experience working with centralized configuration management of Cisco UCS hardware, including UCS Manager, command line, and Cisco Intersight
Understanding of compute technologies within the context of the wider infrastructure stack, i.e., relationships and dependencies on storage and network infrastructures
Experience working within a physical datacenter
Excellent written verbal communication skills in English; ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed team

The following are considered a plus:

Experience working with Dell server hardware
Experience working in a technology-lead role and providing direction on strategic initiatives for the compute infrastructure
Experience working with at least a subset of other manufacturers and hardware types, including Juniper switches and NetApp storage appliances
Knowledge of automation of relevant technologies using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certifications
Experience with Red Hat-supported virtualization, container platforms, or storage technologies, like Red Hat OpenStack Platform or Red Hat Ceph Storage
Basic knowledge of Juniper networks or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)-level networking
Any NetApp certification
