Sustaining Cloud ArchitectThe Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement team is looking for a Sustaining Cloud Architect to join us. In this role, you will focus on sustaining broad strategic IT topics and solutions like open source automation, hybrid cloud, IT modernization, DevOps, and advanced application development concepts. Youll partner with the Sales Management team to provide additional support required on specific opportunities with extra attention on key accounts. You will also play a critical role in bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat like product engineering, support, consulting, and sales. You will work alongside a team of other Sustaining Architects acting as customer advocates with these organizations to help architect and sustain innovative supported solutions implemented in a reliable way.As a Sustaining Cloud Architect, you ll need to have thorough working knowledge and practical experience with Kubernetes and OpenStack-based cloud infrastructures to support applications providing virtualized and containerized network functions (VNF/CNF) to the telco industry. To succeed in this role, you should bring excellent industry experience and domain expertise to play a leading role in sustaining the design and project delivery of these business critical solutions. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do

• Engage in deep technical knowledge sessions with our consulting services team
• Create training documentation to ensure deep technical expertise within the team
• Work closely with product business units, product engineering, consulting, and sales to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat s products
• Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale
• Design and scope delivery projects as well as lead consulting teams through successful customer pilot and production deployments
• Design, create, and deliver technical content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell, service, and support our network functions virtualization (NFV) solutions at scale
• Coach members to accomplish project goals and meet established schedules.
• Monitor and facilitate scrum ceremonies, including backlog grooming, daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

What you will bring

• 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in the telco or enterprise IT industry
• Knowledge of one or more communications service provider markets
• Specific knowledge in NFV or software-defined networking (SDN)
• Understanding of advanced networking concepts, e.g., datacenter and wide area networking, tunneling technologies and overlay networking, security policies, topology discovery, path computation
• Specific knowledge in mobile (5G, 4G, 3G, 2G) or fixed networks (network architectures, service models, service provisioning)
• Proven record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior telco network and business executives
• Proven ability to work with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
• Deep understanding of ETSI NFV architecture and the telco main use-cases (vCPE, vEPC, vCDN, vIMS, vRAN, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to learn and educate others on rapidly changing technology and strategies to maintain a broad skill set in common enterprise IT technologies across development, automation, and operations
• Willingness to travel to customer locations when needed

The following will be considered a plus:

• Familiarity with technologies like Open VSwitch, OpenFlow, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
• Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, 802.1Q, GRE, VXLAN, L2VPN, MPLS, BGP, IS-IS. LACP, DHCP, DNS, NTP, PTP etc
• Deep knowledge of telco technologies, industry trends (network architectures, technologies, services) used in wireline, wireless, cable operators
• Working knowledge of data path acceleration like SR-IOV, data plane development kit (DPDK), VPP/fd.io
• Broad and deep technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g., OpenShift, OpenStack, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Ansible)
• Scripting or programming knowledge (Puppet, Ruby, Python, Golang, etc.)
